ive just put my camp 16 order in but i dont think avon will send it :(
With one thing and another ive not got into town to put the cash in the bank, and dont have enough of my own money to cover the £320 they want.
I did email and ask if on this occassion they will still release my order as normal and I will get to the bank next week to put their money in and pay it, but ive had no reply yet, im guessing they wont do it, so i will have to trapse round to my customers at the weekend and explain why their order is going to be late!
blurgh i feel such a plonker!
i should have thought about it sooner and sorted it sooner, all the other order dates have fallen when hubby has been paid so it hasnt mattered if id not got into town to the bank with the avon money.
argh im so mad at myself!

thanks everyone for the advice on bags...

Can i just ask yet ANOTHER question... this time its more about the attitude you get off people when you tell them your an AVON rep.... do you find people dismiss it as "just a hobby" type of thing and not a real business?

I ask because my MIL made a quip today which has kinda upset me, her and SIL came to drop off their books and orders.. MIL turned round and said in a very patronising tone with a look to match "well at least it gives you a little interest yknow? "....

MAYBE i took it to heart.... but to me its a REAL business. We worked out for me to go out to work id have to leave my daughter approx 24 hours a week with MY mother (cos his family never offer and we cant afford childcare) and id be working for £20 a week once we paid my travel and for formula milk etc etc...so it wasnt worth it...

SO instead of living off her sons wage (who is 50k in debt and has the money management skills of a baby chimp!) ..... ive found myself a way to bring up my daughter myself instead of burdening my mum all the time whilst look after the house and earning my own money to put towards my HALF of the bills... But shes dismissing it as a hobby or "out the house interest" it seems.

My hobby is card making and my interests are my volunteering as a scout leader or the fact im studying for a business degree through the OU............ AVON is my business/work.

I dunno why its bothered me so much. But i was really hurt that it was seen that way... has anyone else found negativity and this dismissive attitude towards them when theyve said they sell AVON?

I wouldn't take it to heart hun, some people are just plain tactless. My MIL is a bit like that sometimes lol..

I've signed up, I have my books (C17) and am off to do part of my round tomorrow morning. Its all flats but its just across the road from me so not too much of a problem. Just hoping that I get some orders.

I've said on my forms that anyone ordering £20 or more will get a free gift - is it cheeky to buy a small lipstick sample or a bottle of body lotion thats going cheap as a freebie?

As its my first time going out I'm feeling all excited and nervous at the same time!
    LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

  • If you're doing C17 look at p34 of Hello Tomorrow C1 - the moisture rich face cream is only 50p, also p33 SSS hand cream 75p, p32 pop up brush 75p.

Nah its not rude lol I always buy them something cheap from the naturals range, like shampoo (I always say its like herbal essesences) or shower gels and then I usually get a sale from it cos they want the whole range in the fragence or think I will try this one :D
Proud to be dealing with my debts

I think a sample is pushing it, but otherwise it's always whatever is going cheap. Customers aren't stupid, they know you're in it to make money and they won't be expecting anything dear... but I don't think a sample would cut it. I think most customers think we get samples free!

:j avon have emailed me back today and said they will still process and send my camp 16 order even though Ive not paid my camp 15 order :j
  • Hi and welcome! Great orders for your first campaign, very well done!!!

You should contact your sales leader or area manager to get your credit limit, but it usually ranges from £250 to around £500. I signed up 6 reps this week, and they were all different ages, backgrounds, houses etc and the lowest limit was £300 so you will probably be ok, but definitely best to check with your sales leader.

    Hi Kat

Thanks for the advice I contacted my SL and she got back to me telling me my limit was £ 500 so I will be ok yipeeeee:T

    Hey

Thanks for your comments, your prob right they do think our samples are free. I was just thinking that I know what I used to be like when I seen a new perfume in avon, I wouldnt order it simply by the smell from the catalogue, as you wernt really getting a true smell and most of the time it would just smell of paper anyway:confused: . So I thought it might encourage people to buy the new Bond Girl 007 perfume if they could try it first and it would also encourage them to give me a first order.

Still not sure whether to do it or not.

Anyone else think its not such a good idea??????? Any advice is always welcome.

That was lucky Mousie. You must have caught them on a good day:D

I'm having a sale today. Got 1/2 hour when no-one's been in so thought I'd pop on here quick! There's been a steady stream since 9.30 this morning.

Right, I've had a cuppa and some lunch now, so I'm ready and waiting for some more peeps to come in ;)
