Sorry to hear that - do you need to ask a question, or did you just fancy telling us?

would it be ok with you dmg24 if anyone posts about cancellations from east mids to madrid, becasue there has been some and it might affect your plans.

you might not get notified and you could read it one here first, plenty of ryanair cancellations and easyjet over the years and customers have not been informed in good time or have missed the email.

i want to know about possible problems on routes, its not scaremongering its helpfull
  • I do hope they give a full refund and not just the cost of the flights as it was the taxes which made up the bulk of the cost.

They better refund the whole amount including the £6 card charge. The ridiculous thing is I have rebooked with them to another airport at a similar cost, but the card charge this time is £24! I understand the flights are cheap but not sure how they can justify £24. I also agree they could have sub chartered the flights. Ther are lots of new flights starting from Edinburgh and they have not all been cancelled so I can only assume they have removed the flights that have not sold well and were potentially loss making. If they dont need to supply any compensation it will be cheaper not to run them.

It is scaremongering when people post half a story, and hence get others worried when in fact there is no way that they will be affected by the news.

I did not say that the OP should not have posted, I asked if they needed further information, but I do think that it is bad form to post inaccurate information.

    Now you are scaremongering

No, the use of a question mark would imply that was asking you a question!

  • your reply was sarcastic dmg24, "did you just fancy telling us"- "do you need to ask a question"

whats it got to do with you?

other posters want to discuss the original post

nothing wrong with posting information, there dosent have to be a question, or sarcasm as if the original post isnt worthy enough for the you and the forum

They have changed the list of new routes now to reflect the new dates of starting but those that weren't cancelled were those which didn't start on 23 September.

    Malaga 06 Nov 08
    Billund 05 Nov 08
    Bournemouth 05 Nov 08
    Bratislava (Vienna) 05 Nov 08
    Krakow 18 Dec 08
    Lodz 08 Nov 08
    Stockholm (Skavsta) 05 Nov 08
    Palma Mallorca 23 Dec 08
    Poznañ 05 Nov 08
    Berlin (Schonefeld) 05 Nov 08
    Wroclaw 06 Nov 08

The flights now starting on 5/6th November (apart from Krakow) are the ones that were due to commence on 23 September
  • Hello, im a new member and this is the only place I have found any help with regards to the cancelled Ryanair flights from Edinburgh.
We were due to fly from Bournemouth to Edinburgh on Sat 27/9, returning 29/9. An email was sent to us from Ryanair on 9/9 informing of the cancellations. My boyfriend only read his emails today so Im gutted, however it does say we would have received a refund within 7 days of their email, yet no refund has took place as yet, which is obviously infuriating.

Also, we had booked 2 nights at a travelodge on one of these non-refundable cheapy deals, am I right in thinking that Ryanair wont re-imburse the money we have paid to the hotel?

Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Thanks - Jen 11

Now it maybe me, but, surely the problem with the delivery of TWO aircraft could not possibly cause the cancellation of all of these route? I know Ryainair sometimes like to think they are God, but surely even God could not operate even one return flight per day on all those routes with just TWO aircraft?

Who said all those routes had a daily service? I just checked the EDI-Lodz route and that seems to be twice weekly.

Having said that, most other airlines would have wet leased a couple of aircraft to keep the routes running.

I'm afraid there is no chance of Ryanair reimbursing you for the hotel that you have already paid for

Perhaps they are too busy still helping XL customers get home - did I hear right that it's £75 a pop? If so it makes economical sense. Although, if true not exactly moral sense.
