HELP with getting money off a car

Hi I want to buy a used car fom cwcarsales.co.uk, gave them a ring but they wouldn't move on the price at all. I'm not very good at haggling. They told me their pricesare the best in the market and they work on a high turnover of cars and low profit. I'm not sure if this is true but the prices seem fair. But I don't want to be a mug and pay the asking price if someone else wouldnn't. I'm a very shy person.

Hello Credit_Jake
I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Which car are you looking at?The man without a signature.0

How long has the car been up on the website? If its been on long enough, haggling should work. You need to build up that courage. All places have room to haggle, I guarantee it. Even if their profits are "low" there is always room to negotiate. The longer the car has been on the website without having been sold, the likelier it will be that they'll be willing to negotiate a better price for you. Don't be timid!0

Cool thanks, how long do you think I should leave it, the one Im after was posted on the site only a week ago, but they havent moved much stock in the time I've been looking at their site (about 3 weeks).0

two ways to look at it, go see it and haggle when you find dents, old tyres etc
OR
go somewhere else where you can haggle
Unless its something special there will be 1000's of cars exactly the same elsewhere
Also try haggling in the last week of the month,0 -
Well it is quite a limited version, I just don't want to pay the asking price, who does that lol

Jake
Offer them 10% less than the figure that you want to pay.
They might then up it to the figure that you want to pay.
Win-win.
Nothing to lose.0 -
Well I've already !!!!!!ed (i didn't swear I said bug) it up then lol, I offered 8800 and its 9595. They said no that's below what they paid :eek:0

You need to know what the Glass's Guide says then you will know roughly what they are in at. They could be offering it a rock bottom price but you need to know and can then decide how to continue.
Go to the Vauxhall Website and pop in the details there they have Glass's Guide.0 -
Do you have to pay?0
