  • This is a very strange thread, and I am a very strange person for reading it all too. I don't like to fill my tank because it doubles the value of my car to thieves.

  • well done going mad., nothing wrong in being a bit odd and thrifty, i had thought your post was a wind up.

i would actually worry about not starting the engine on a lights change or stalling and getting hit up the backside, still i bet its good fun getting the timing perfect
  • thanks ynot2005 - no - no windups

By being lighter footed combined with some car sharing I save about £600 a year on fuel - then by only buying what I need rather than filling up I improve cashflow by £30 at any one time.

I know the £30 doesn't seem much in isolation but combine this with 10 orther money saving techniques for the same amount and suddenly I have an extra £300 a month (to spend or save)

Do you apply the same principle to how you buy toilet rolls?

Right thats it you must be on drugs, totally against your buying principle I dont wait till im on the last few sheets of toilet roll to buy a new one, of course I would save a few pennies if I did wait but I have better things to think about in my life than saving 0.001p interest on my money.

You never did answer my query about how you intend to live for another 1000 years.

lol - er the 1000 years was tongue in cheek rolleyes.gif

I'm not on drugs, neither do I now or ever have had a different username on the forum which you posted earlier in the thread.

I save money each month doing this as well as improving my cashflow which may be worth something to others - and maybe even you one day if cashflow gets to the point where you need to lower yourself to think about it.

It's never been about interest generated in the bank for me - just cashflow.

    How does this work?
at Sainsburys you get 2 Nectar Points per £1 spent.

At Sainsburys they only give you one Nectar point (1/2 a pence) per litre

oh classic post.... :D that made me laugh
  • Whats everyones problem ?
Petrol has not gone up in price.
In 1983 when I got my 1st car I put £20 petrol in my car.
Today when I went to the Garage I still put £20 in.
    No Increase :):)
