Bicester Village

Hi, I was wondering if anybody has gone to Bicester Village recently, and whether there are any good deals. I live quite far away from Bicester, but was thinking anbout going soon. Thanks in advance.

There are some bargains there but it does depend on what you are after.
The Bodum shop is good value if you are want coffee stuff and there is a good Oneida cookware shop but the rest of it is mostly designer or premium brand clothes reduced from stupidly expensive to only very expensive.
If you want last years £165 trainers for about £90, a £400 Boss coat for £250 or £95 shirts for £55 you may well be happy there.
More ordinary items really dont seem to be reduced enough to warrant a special trip.
Its not very big either you could see most of the windows in 15 mins. There is quite alot more under construction at the mo so it may improve.

I am a bloke though and dont understand shopping so you may feel free to completely ignore me :)

I agree with basill, it's not really worth a special trip unless you've got a fair whack of money to play with in the first place, and there's b*gger all else in Bicester worth seeing!
Some people create their own storms....then get upset when it rains!
  • I agree with the other posters, unless you want something special like a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes down from £300 to £150 then there is not a lot to be had a Bicester, they have shops like Boss, Coast, FC, Jigsaw, Jimmy Choo, Cath Kidston, all premium brands that are cheaper than they normally would be but still expensive if you get my drift.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I went Saturday and it was so busy. The only shop I go for a Timberland where I got another pair of sandals, they had reduced them down to £9.99. I paid £20 a few weeks ago for the same ones and I thought that was a bargain. They were so comfy I got another pair for next year.

I used to work there back in the 90's and could never understand the attraction (i am a man) most of the stuff was never that cheap. If you know what you want have a good look on t'interent, however if you are female you will probably love it, but us men will never know why!
    Happy shopping.:rotfl:

Bicester is pants... I used to live in Oxford, and Swindon McArthur Glenn is MUCH, MUCH better...

Amusingly, on a BA flight back from the South of France a few weeks back, Bicester Village was advertised in their in-flight magazine as "near London"! I wouls have been well !!!!ed off as a non-UK tourist by that one!!!

Hi, I live about 600 yards from Bicester Village and can't think of the last time that I went there. My wife does go occasionally to the White company store there but apart from that she doesn't think much of it either. The only thing I am sure of it is always very popular and I can never get to Tesco's on a Sunday because of the queues!!
  • I went towards the end of August and the sale stuff in the Max Mara store was reduced to high st prices - I got a Marina Rinaldi navy pin stripe jacket (original price £193) for £19 and a Marina Rinaldi long black silk skirt for £31 (original price £204). MR is the plus size label that MM do - sizes 14+ I think...

If you are male and take size xxxL or 26" waist jeans you will find lots of good stuff other wise it is just pot luck so I echo the opinion that it is not worth a special journey just worth a minor detour if you are passing up the m40!

We went to Bicester last week it was ok
but not really worth a long trek.We have
a Glen Mills outlet nearer to us called
    Cheshire Oaks and to me
it seems a lot better.Much more choice
and it is cheaper than Bicester.i was surprised
that it was so small. If I was in the area I would
probably check it out while I was there but would
not go out of my way.We live in Liverpool so it
was quite a distance for us,prefered Cheshire
Oaks and the outlets at Portsmouth and York
    to this one.
