If you have absolutely no money you can try for a crisis loan. Call the job centre and tell them you need to apply for a crisis loan and they will give you the number. They will pay only for things such as electric and food. Be aware though they will ask you when you had any money last and what you spent it on. They will also ask how much you want to borrow and what exactly you will be spending it on. If you claim is successful, generally speaking it will be paid the same day if you call early enough.
With regards to the JSA, I thought that they could fast track tax credit payments so you could get them within in a week. Someone will no doubt correct me if i'm wrong.0 -
Once your claim is in i would go to the inland revenue and ask for an urgent consideration of your claim for tax credits. If you dont get your tax credits asap then apply for a crisis loan.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Hi,
Just another quick thought for the kids, if your on a low income then you could get a clothing grant for school uniform. The critera changes from council to council so I would get on your local councils website and check it out.
I know this may be a hard pill to swollow, but can you see about a food package from your local salvation army type charity? We have christian based charity that is always providing food packages in my area.
Hope this helps. Simone. Good luck.light bulb moment: 30.08.08!!0 -
