Thanks for that - certainly worth a try, particularly as the mini Hitler I dealt with took great delight in telling me I was wrong and then when he asked me where I saw this and I said MSE he proceeded to diss the site. I could have hit him. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

I checked if I could use the Farmfoods coupons at customer services in Tesco, they scowled at me and said in a very patronising way "you use these at Farmfoods". I did my shopping and then went to my usual checkout assistant who said "yes you can use these no problems".

Tescos Coupon policy!
Brand owners and agencies who are using money-off coupons to promote FMCG products through retailers need to be aware of a section in Tesco’s Terms & Conditions that appears to give the retailer the right to charge brand owners for coupons redeemed, without having to provide proof of purchase.
Tesco’s T&Cs further appear to admit that the retailer has told its checkout staff not to check any coupons presented by customers, unless they have been issued by Tesco itself.
Tesco deducts the value of coupons redeemed from suppliers’ accounts. If suppliers feel they have been wrongly charged, they then have to try and claim the money back.
Effectively, brand owners who sign the T&Cs may find themselves being charged for coupons which they feel should not have been redeemed, perhaps because the relevant product was not purchased or even stocked in stores that are claiming for redemptions.
It should be noted that the ISP understands that some brand owners who have challenged bills for coupon redemptions from Tesco have been reimbursed. However, the ISP has also heard of other brand owners who have been unable (or unwilling) to reclaim money they felt had been unfairly deducted.STARTING BALANCE JAN 09 £47,400

Hi,
]I am new to this discussion forum, and am so new that I cant find a way of starting a new thread. I have read your above thread and I am looking to find other websites which must exist, to print off vouchers from online to use as cash. couponnet is the only one I have found that lets you print off coupons, but there is a limit that you can print off. So I would be grateful if someone could please tell me of other websites where this is possible and also tell me how to start a new thread.
muchos gracias.

went shopping in my local tesco today and was informed by the checkout operator that tesco has changed its policy on coupons, they will only accept the coupon if you have purchased the product. I also noticed that on the self serve tills the attendants were checking the coupons before allowing the customers to use them.0

Quote "RIP Tesco Coupon policy - be ashamed all those who said 'if it scans in Tesco I don't care if they can't redeem it' " unquote
Puhlease - the professional gangs who more than likely put a stop to Tesco coupon policy would no doubt sell their grannie for tuppence, so you really are wasting your time changing your sig.0 -
Hi all,
Just a note to say that Tesco no longer accept coupons if you have not bought the actual product.
I work for them and we were told that as of 3pm Friday we were no longer allowed to accept coupons if the product has not been purchased. This is in response to advertising the fact that they accepted them via sites like this.
They will still accept competitors 'minimum spend' vouchers.
Hope this saves any embarrasment at the tills.0 -

Hi - we already know...check my signature. I am now shopping elsewhere as without coupons, Tesco is by no means the cheapest grocery store.
However the word from other Tesco employees on here since Friday is that it was in response to a major coupon abuse scam which culminated with thousands of duplicated coupons hitting 3 stores in one day. This was in the Dudley, West Brom and Willenhall stores. I guess Tesco isn't telling employees that's the real reason for their knee-jerk reaction on Friday because the story doesn't do them any favours at all:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2666392/Pedigree-chumps-at-Tesco.html
There was also talk on these forums that some manufacturers had allegedly threatened to sue the giant Tesco due to the huge sums they were recently claiming. Certain high-value printable coupons were duplicated in their thousands in recent weeks - not just the dog food ones.
Some people also blame Martin Lewis for 'mentioning couponing' last week on GMTV - but that's on another thread on the 'vent' board. Personally I don't think that his innocuous TV appearance led to hoards of people suddenly finding, printing and selling thousands of coupons in a matter of hours. Then organising gangs to hit stores in the evenings and selling their 'spare' printables in the car parks of West Midlands Tesco stores. There would not have been time for all this to have been organised in such a short time-frame, IMHO.
By all accounts these stores had already suffered - and not dealt with - serious coupon abuse in previous weeks. The abuse there was apparently so unchecked that it makes one wonder about staff involvement - but that would be speculation...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Is this a permenant or trial policy?
