If it drops out Dusty put it in cold milk and find an emergency dentist - don't let it dry or put it in water.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

A mixed afternoon, one hand IT PASSED!!! One shiney new MOT, advisory note about exhaust which I knew about (tiny pin holes appearing) but was praying it'd pass with (would have taken a mean tester to fail it) so thanks for all the positive thoughts, I swear you lot are my guardian angels and what you wish for me comes true
On the other not so good note, DP dropped his Dad off at the airport last week, due to pick him up Saturday........but guess which airline they've gone with, oh yes, XL............so at the minute they're waiting to speak to a rep who's currently 'unavailable' we have relayed what we could find online. Luckily they're not 'poor' and if it came down to it can afford to get home but why the hell should they? Makes me so angry.
I was supposed to be going up to the caravan this evening but DP has an item he 'needs' and wants me to stay in and bid for (another toy) that finishes at 7pm ish, it's raining but forecast for better tomorrow so might wait until the morning and go up. It wasn't nice setting up in the dark and rain last time. Will see how things go anyway.
Have managed to do the kitchen, looks much better, even used my BM for the first time in over a monthwill slice the loaf to take with me. Sitting rooms still in need of more work, will take the laundry mountain upstairs in a mo which will probably make it look 10 times better.
Dusty, owwwww!!! That sounds really painful, hope he's ok.One day I might be more organised...........

Lil_me I'm glad the car passed it's MoT - such a relief and sorry to hear about FiL holiday, it sounds like so many poor people have been affected.
DS3's tooth has stopped bleeding so it will be a case of wait and see I think.
It's wine o'clock I feel really stressed now, straw and camel and all that! I wonder when DH will be home, bet he has not even left the city yet.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Valli - hope you got the gas engineer's phone number this time! Sorry to hear he didn't manage to fix it - I suggest you invite yourself to stay round at someone else's house for the weekend.
Lil-me - sorry to hear about your in laws, but good news about the car
Polka - fingers crossed for the cake. I hope DF was suitably apologetic and will make sure you have the time and space to get everything done.
Dusty - hope DS's tooth stays put
PP - good luck with your list. I can't begin to imagine how you cope given the volumes of washing you have to do. I certainly wouldn't be able to even contemplate doing anything else once that was done!
Nicki - hope you HHC with DD went well.
Hugs to those that need them.
I'm sitting at work trying to put together a last-minute request for an additional person for 6 months which I didn't know I'd need until yet another piece of sh*t fell out of the woodwork about three hours ago! I've got no idea how to re-allocate the current workload and can't face going through the whole recruitment process... hopefully someone from this batch will be suitable, but I'm not holding my breath based on today's results!
I'll catch up with you all later once I've made it home and have a large glass of wine to keep me company!0 -
embb - i know! i cant wait:)
dusty - ouch! hope your ds is ok! my ds1 hit himself in the mouth with a golf club a few weeks ago and chipped his front tooth:(

***Hangs head in shame***
Didn't ask for his phone number - so out of touch with flirting - lol!
Seriously he has said it won't be him coming back. We're awaiting a part from Leicester.
Will be popping to mum's for showers; dad is coming to sit in for me Monday so I can go to work - term time so it would take a death (mine probably) to get time off! Will suggest to exgit that kids bath at his - but he is not usually very good at co-operating - when I had a power cut he STILL brought them back - unwashed despite my asking him to shower/bath them there. Just wait until he asks for his Tr0lley J4ck - something will fly THAT day! Through his window! Am full of admiration for colleague who has just gone the fin4ncial d1spute hearing - her ex - walked out to be with another woman - wanted 3 things from the house.
1 books records - fine he got them!
2 preciousornaments - collectors things a FAB set of FOUR jugs - she had sold them on e bay
3 tow bar and box for car - sold on e bay too
I was WELL impressed - she had no clue what he was up to and it was all ahuge shock when she found out about him - and her - apparently it was the kids who found out!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Slightly more than 30 mins, but I was in the middle of doing a job and so was DD when the timer went off so we finished off first. Just had tea (omelette with baked beans & cheese for DD by her request  I had a couple of sandwiches as the bread is about to turn
) and I'll chase DD off to bed in a minute when she's finished. She can read until 8pm
