Evening all
Boddy – you’re a far better person than I. I don’t think I’d be able to cope…
Dusty – hope you’re feeling better this evening and the little sicky one.
Tootie – ARGGGGGGHHHHH….!!! You mentioned the X word – please don’t – it’s three months away!
SexyM – I heard about that horrendous jam on the local travel news when I was going to work this morning – sounded awful! I was glad I wasn’t going through that area.
Valli – glad the boiler breakdown is covered and hoping the new bits sort it out tomorrow properly.
Polka – that pic of your little one is lovely – start ‘em young – that’s what I say!
Johanne – hugs honey – hope you’re feeling a bit better this evening. And no – you’re NOT a bad mother because you don’t take Sarah to be weighed. As long as she’s happy and healthy and alert, she’s fine.
Dusty – I cracked the bone in my elbow around 7 years ago through being taken out by a dog. I’m not sure if it was my dog or the dog of the lady I was chatting to in the park very early one August morning. We had stopped to chat, started to walk away together and as one of the dogs moved off too it took my leg away with it causing me to lose balance. I ended up falling backwards onto the field. I felt something go as I landed heavily on my arm. I sat up and all I could do for about 5 minutes was hug my arm to my body and swear. Very badly. All the time I was swearing, I could feel the early morning dew seeping through my trousers and making my bum wet but I still couldn’t get up because of the pain. Took about 10 weeks for me to get painfree movement back in it. It still creaks and cracks occasionally and that arm will never be as straight as the other one anymore. The most embarrassing thing about it all was having to ask my daughter to fasten my bra every day for the first week or so.
Well, I'm pooped. It's been a busy day.
This morning, although I wasn't stuck in the dreadful jam that SexyM talked about, I got caught in a traffic census on the way to work. Had to give details of where I was coming from, where I was going to and for what reasons. As well as my income band - not quite sure about that one! It was quite funny because the dog was in the back of the car (took her to work in the end) and popped her head up as I stopped. She focussed on one particular policeman with a peaked cap on and just kept barking at him! Made me have to give the answers to the census taker several times in between barks - but he was obviously a dog lover and took it all in good part. The policeman stood and looked a little frosty throughout.:rotfl:
Got back home to find the front door has been painted a v. strange colour then got to fretting that it's the colour we've chosen - if it is, it's horrible:eek:!
But then realised it's probably just the undercoat (I'm certainly hoping it is!). Have spoken to upstairs to get him to double check tomorrow (I don't see the painter as I'm out too early and back too late)
Checked emails when I got home to find I've been asked to do a presentation at a community meeting next week. Seems I'm the only one with the in-depth knowledge to do it. So I've said yes.
~Sigh~
Guess what I'll be doing this weekend - prepping it.
But, ought to go and sort out some dinner. Have a good evening ladies
Dusty - I promise I'll email you some lovely stuff over the weekend!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I couldn't say it any better than Pigpen has! I hate those paranoia creating baby clinics! And as for my stupid HV!!! I banned him from my house. My normally extremely polite, and engaging DD1 who was 2 at the time, took one look at him, and turned her back on him, and refused point blank to speak to him.... other than when she went to attack him when he was vaccinating DD2. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: What can I say... she has impeccable taste!
Pigpen said.....Tiddles.. is 4 in november and was last weighed at... 6 months old.. before that it was 2 weeks and before that it was the day we were discharged from hospital (or the day I stomped out!) and before that her birth... Johanne.. if she is happy and you are happy that is all that matters.. they only make you worry about something that is nothing to worry about if you go to clinics.. I haven't had a HV for years and they all (in my experience!!) spout bull**** ... when I meet one that does otherwise I will be very shocked and I will also possibly change my opinion!!
I found the best thing is to ask various people thier opinion then take from that what I feel will be helpful.

Portioned up the rest of the chilli, altogether it is giving us 5 meals for the 3 of us. So about 15 portions which isnt bad for about £6
Saves me a lot of time if i've got that in the freezer. Will do a big bolognaise next week, and maybe a soup, loving the batch cooking:D

polkadot - well done, prove your dear dad wrong when he visits, adn cute clever laddy
hugs Johanne for feeling poorly - and sounds to me like you're a very sensible mum
OK so another day at work and I come home to find breakfast dishes in the sink  , and then found out from DD that OH didnt even take her to school, he pushed her out of the door on her bike this morning and she didnt see him again until he came to pick her up (and then thats because they will only release the children to an adult). She's only 9 !!!!!! and school is a mile away and she has to cross at least 2 roads    . So that also means as he collected her on his bike that doogie hasnt been walked. All he has done all day is look for photographs to print for his aunty and now he's gone to work
So I came in washed up, cooked tea, now got to clear away and do HHC on daily list with DD (as DS at Tae Kwon Do) and wait til DS comes in at 915 to walk doogie.
Still plus side to life, I have finished my course of B12 injections and so happy :T as they hurt, next booster booked for December. New phone has arrived with confirmation of free Wii and air guitar 3. All I need to do now is find a Wii fit and thats kids xmas sorted.
Right best get started.
See ya laterMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Hi everyone.
We were supposed to get rain here today but its been lovely and sunny.
Went to see mum and she was so happy today. My DD had taken her out and they were waiting for me. Both of them smoking like a chimney.Mums speech very clear. She laughed and said did you wonder where I was. Thinking I had been looking all over for her. She thought that was hilarious. Later kept saying I enjoyed that its nice to get fresh air. Havent seen her like this for a long time.
Going do a bit of flying tonight. Living room needs a tidy.
wilf55 Glad the dog came back.
polkadot Full time paid job is working with people who have severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Worked with same clients for 28 years. They are like family and I cry if they are poorly. I do voluntary work at the local general hospital as a meeter and greeter. Giving people directions to wards and clinics. Sometimes taking them if elderly. Meeting and greeting my dream job lol. No meetings and no paperwork.
