Feel poorly - still in pjs... not done the housework today.

Tackled bedroom yesterday though.. majorly! I.e. not cleaned... actually put together whole new room as finally replaced my bed and furniture with OH's so had to totally gut the room and start again...!!

Have only skimmed thread so sorry ive missed anything.. so *hugs to all*

Just a quick question re baby weight: Am i a bad mum? See i have never took DD to get weighed :o:o Only time shes been weighed is when weve took her for her needles. She has been 50th centile (on formula charts) everytime and has never lost ANY weight even after she when born.. she actually put on which apparently was amazing for a b/f baby. I know shes growing and certainly getting heavier and is really happy.. so im not worried if shes following a line on a chart or not really - But does that make me a bad mum, should i be getting her weighed??:o:o I feel soooo guilty now that im not..
  • Update:

Applied for reduction in Council Tax banding
Updated BT call plan to get free evening/weekend plus BT Privacy/Caller Display all at current monthly charge (no money saving but better plan options)
Reviewed BT Friends & Family and Orange Magic Numbers
Reviewed mobiles costs - think we're on best plan but asked for advice from mobiles forum on here just in case
Stopped annual indexation on endowment as worked out can save the money on a better rate than would get if continued to pay it to the endowment

    Still to:

    House insurance comparisons
Phone BS re cancelling house insurance and what to do with deeds
    Look at breakdown cover deals
Look at Sky deals to see if we can get Sky+ or HD - using money we're saving elsewhere to pay for the cost increase!
Find landline numbers for companies we call using 0845 numbers - that way could call them using mobile allocation and not pay call charges with BT
MFW Challenge (Tgt Date Nov 07): ACHIEVED FEB 07!
Mthly Savings (Tgt 60% of Inc): Average 41.67% (but we have just paid for a new kitchen!)

Johanne - my DS born 9lbs plus on the Saturday (25th Sept - 9 month after xmas but he WAS late! lol) came out on the Wednesday back at birthweight and was breastfed! Took to it like a duck to water he did!
Whole different story with DD also BF and never had a bottle! She fed on occasion until well past 1 (think she was still having a bit at almost 2 to my ma's horror!)I wasn't a regular at clinic with either of them - just went occasionally (sp?) too lazy!

Don't feel guilty in the slightest, with my DD (my one and only) I got her weighed religiously each week, and religiously got made to feel guilty. Yah, boo and sucks to them all. She's was born on the 25th .. and stuck to it .... although the charts are baloney anyway, due to being out of date and for ff bubs anyhow. Trust your instincts.
She's now 4 .. and 3/4 and in 6 to 7yr old clothes heightwise, weighs a ton, and has not a scrap of fat on her anywhere.

Dont fool yourself that he does any work:) But it does help that he just joins in-its even more fun now that he's started being entertained by it. And he's talking soooo much:j I was worried for a bit but I talk about what Im doing and he copies me. Yesterday I think he was giving me a hint when he came in the kitchen whilst I was sweeping and said "mummy-broom, 'gain" shrugging his shoulders:rotfl: He's making a mess now though-sugarpaste time:)
  • Did he drop much in the couple of weeks after birth? If he did he obviously needs to regain that weight before he can make any actual gain. Which line is he on for length - ie is he proportioned?

He did drop a few pounds, but put it all back on by 10 days. Last time his length was measured he was on the 25th line, so he is long and thin, just like ds2 was. I think the concern was that he is coming up to 4 months and is the average weight of a 2 month old, couple with the fact he has dropped 2 lines and is on the 0.4 line right at the bottom, and has only put on 1lb in 6 weeks.

johanne - so basically, going to get him weighed after 6 weeks, got me worried, when I wasn't worried before. You're not a bad mother, basically if your baby is happy, healthy and doing all the things she should be, don't worry. I know it's easy to feel guilty, as I went through exactly the same thing. If you look back on this thread lots of people have given very sound advice about this similar topic.

Just spent the past hour catching up with the post! So now need to go wee, again it's all that water I've been drinking. DS2 needs a change. DS1 needs entertaining. Need to start on dinner and get cracking with some flying. So will be back later
