jackielesley - at 16 weeks she wouldn't have her MatB1 anyway. If she would normally contractually get full pay when she is off sick then she should get full pay even if pregnancy related (otherwise it is discriminatory). If the company don't normally pay full sick pay and just pays statutory then she will get 4 waiting days and then c£15 per day. If she goes off sick late in her pregnancy then she can be forced to start maternity leave early. Grey area if they sometimes pay discretionary sick pay, some fairly recent case law on this but I cant remember the full details. I always err on the side of caution and pay it as I would for anyone who isn't pregnant. If you want any more info feel free to PM me - but the starting point is does she get contractual sick pay? Have they treated her any differently becuase she is pregnant?
I managed to wash the LR carpet this morning, and most of the Snug one. For once I haven't just shifted stuff elsewhere from the LR, three bin bags of broken or tatty stuff and one of stuff for the charity shop.
Actually some sunshine here so I need to go and do the yucky dug dirt cleaning job before I collect the boys so I can get SS1 to mow the lawn when he gets back from college.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Afternoon my dears
I so love the way that somebody on here can answer most questions we are one very clever bunch with a wealth of info at our finger tips.
SS I hope you feel a bit better now and I'm sorry your hubbie didn't remember, mine would never remember an appointment for any of mine so I can sympathise but I am lucky not to have kids with extra medical needs. Hugs hun
Polly you have done loads today, I hate cleaning the hair out of the WM but it does make me do a hot cleaning cycle
G&B there is never a cop car in the street when you need one is there. People like that make me say in my head 'I hope you crash into the next lamp post'
Holly - I'd be fine about ending it early if I was happy with the price, AnW'sMum gave good advise about them collecting but you risk getting a bid before they turn up. GnB's idea is good about the buy it now price - I have done it that way but it will depend on you trusting them to turn up and pay or getting them to use paypal - do they have a good rating?
I've done all my out of house jobs, stocked up on food.
DS3 has a party and DS2 has footie training tonight so I'll be up and down like a wh**es drawers as OH is not due in until late. Must remember to return a library book which I could not renew on line as well (fortunately rollercity party is next door to library)
Going to do 15 minutes quick tidy up and then school run - the day has simply wizzed by.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Builder man's been, said it'll cost a lot to sort as we'll need the hall redecorating too.:D
Then earlier, knock a the door, man there, come to collect your car for insurance company!
'Eh' say I, 'its already been collected'.
'when?' says man
'yesterday'
'do you have any paperwork?'
'erm nope'.
Man rings salvage yard, they haven't got the car:eek:!!!!!
So gawd knows where the car is but not my problem.
Man says 'well we both learned a lesson there haven't we?'.
Erm nope, I had a phone call from a salvage man who picked my car up from insurance company, he had my home number so he must be somehow connected to the insurance company.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Afternoon everyone. I've not done any flying yet as I took the children to school, walked the dog for an hour and then i've worked until now. I'm still loving being able to work again. I've got a full day tomorrow, Friday and Saturday then two days off again.
Going to check the list and get ds and dd to help for half an hour when they get in.
Hope everyone is having a good day and not working too hard!0 -
Pigpen How was your first day? Cant remember what time it was.
Julie TELL ME HOW.....PLEASE
Mumofjusttwo Not sure how to explain (and maybe you call them something else-but the tracks that the drawer slides on when you open and close?
AnW’s mum pressie albums are always so much work-I do five every year for Christmas since DS was born (guess its become tradition)-one for my parents, one for DF’s parents, one for DS’s dad and one for his parents, aswell as one for DS’s godmother. They all live in South Africa so pointless sending gifts but then they haven’t seen him since we moved here. We have photo’s on the net but I did it once and they were all thrilled about them. Hope you’re having fun doing it.
beanynharrison you made me laugh. I was also almost late because I “just wanted to finish this one thing” then all the other mums at playgroup thought I was barmey coz I kept tidying up the toys.
Tag don’t feel bad about the little beans-Ive given up on them
Zed what a good idea-soak some cloths in vinegar to shove around the taps-why oh why did none of you mention this to me before?
SarahShattered Big hugs hun its not nice, but please don’t consider it to be so because your DD is different from the other “normal” kids as you say. I have cerebral palsy-and as a child I never learned to swim as my legs were always in casts or calipers and I wanted to play netball instead of going to OT,but now Im older all those apps have benefited me so much and I am so thankful I had a mum who stuck it out with me. I have a child who’s manners are perfect compared to kids raised by my “normal” peers and a partner who wants to be at home to love me at the end of the day rather than hide away from me at work.
What Im trying to say is that Im a lot more normal now than those kids grew up to be.
And your DD will love you a hundred fold more when shes really grown up enough to understand.
Serena Enjoy your gardening time, you deserve it.

G&B What an idiot! You know I have such little tolerance for drivers since I moved to London.
I ACTUALLY got up early this morning (okay, about 7) and did the bedroom. Bedding is in the TD now, S&S in kitchen and lounge.
Got back at a little before two from playgroup, got all my running around done.
Playgroup was loads of fun. Theres a new little girl there about DS’s age came in with her aunt. DS was all about the kitchen and the ironing today. At one point she was getting in his way so he went and fetched her a chair, put it near enough to have a conversation but still out of his way and carried on with his pots and pans. She sat quietly for about two minutes, got up and just about threw him up against the wall so she could get all smoochy with him. It was so funny he had his cheek pressed up on the wall and this look on his face that just screamed “What the….”
So now I want to update my list and get back in the kitchen to start supper (don’t know what yet) and get going on todays bit of the cake.0 -
Ooooh brilliant....it's the landing which I did this morning before the school run and our bedroom isn't too bad. Just needs a s/s. Bedding is already clean as our cat threw up on it AGAIN yesterday! Need to stop rambling now. Byesie bye xx0
