have you a legitamte copy of your OS!!! I ask because that seems to me MS has identified your OS key as a dodgy one!

Did you buy your laptop new or second hand cos if it's second hand then the person you got it from could have used a copy of Windows that they didn't own i.e. a downloaded copy.

It was brand new 18 months ago from Pc world, it's been fine 'til now

...or another way to put it, do you have a sticker on the laptop giving the serial number for Windows Vista Home Premium? There should be one if it's legal.

when you reboot do you get a msg saying "this is not a genuine copy of Microsoft Visa" or words to that effect.

or look on the laptop for a sticker (Certificate of authenticity) with your Operating system and keycode
