  • The blame culture pushes up prices for all of us.... everyone wants something for nothing. I have broken several teeth through my addiction to polos.... Polos fault or mine... I shouldnt have been crunching them! I suggest you take God to court for giving your son faulty teeth.... or maybe its in your genetics so you could take yourself to court as t

You cant get children into an NHS dentist for love nor money where I live.
Like looking for a needle in a haystack.
    Have to go private.

What is happening to the world

Just read that back to yourself, and then think about some of the REALLY awful things that are going on in the world.

Is having to pay a few quid to get you kids teeth checked out in a safe and clean environment by well qualified professionals honestly one of the horsemen of the apocalypse??
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

My back filling came out in a big chunk recently in a toffee chocolate eclair -can I sue my husband for buying them? They were buy one get one free in Tesco so who's fault is it? Personally I would have got the liquorice allsorts and the jelly babies but no, he had to buy the toffees........ To make it worse I'd only been to the dentist the week before for a check-up and got the all clear!:rotfl:

Joking apart (though the above is true!) he also recently bought these same cookies and they are DEFINITELY VERY HARD!! I didn't even attempt one until the next day when they'd softened up. Buy these if you have a child with a wobbly tooth........... it'd come out no bother!

    He's not addicted to cookies.

God didn't give him faulty teeth, they work fine, it was originally a kid swung a gate which broke his tooth a few years ago, in fact he has very nice teeth.

Do Polo do sugar free ones now? Because I know original ones are very bad for your teeth. If you had tried the polo once and broke your teeth I'd understand but if you're constantly munching them it's bound to have an effect.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

Yes I know things like eclairs get stuck in your teeth and pull out fillings but biting into a cookie? And the cookie didn't break. Thank you for agreeing that they are very hard, at least I know it's not just me.

I think they do - but the thing is, the artificial sweeteners also have quite a marked laxative effect!

Half a packet, and you'll know about it!!!!!!!!

Yep, about 6 years ago, and you would expect his tooth to break from the force of a metal gate but not biting a cookie and the cookie not breaking.

  • I don't understand why alot of people seem to be saying she should have know toffee is hard, should have known better etc, the cookie is designed to be eaten you bite it and chew, it's not like you are supposed to suck it or crush it first.
So before eating pretty ordinary grocery items should we all carefully think through all possible consequences and pitfalls then reject most as I'm sure you could come up with some obscure hazzard. Cookies are not notorious for breaking teeth.
It was denfinately the cookies fault if it was as hard as indicated, but I wouldn't take it any further I would take the £20 and put it down to experience.

I think take the £20 and run.

You son broke a tooth that was fixed for free. Apart from your time and fuel in the car.

Your son was not maimed or killed or became disabled through it.

So I personally would let it lie.

    All the best.

    Yours
