Son broke tooth/crown in Tesco toffee cookie

It sounds excessive for a cookie to break a tooth. If it was just down to the cookie then I'd view this as faulty merchandise. I don't think £20 is a very good offer for faulty merchandise that has caused physical harm to a consumer.
I'm expecting to get flamed for this but I'd consider calling Tesco and politely saying that I don't think that they've behaved fairly. Have they looked into what happened here? Was it just a one off incident or is there a problem with this line of cookies? If you'd broken your tooth you could be looking at hundreds of pounds to fix it and it's just by chance that you didn't.
After doing that you must hand yourself into social services for allowing a teenager near a cookie unsupervised.0 -
It was kids playing, I suppose I could have confiscated the kids pocket money for a few weeks though :rotfl:
I'm quite happy to keep reading the replies, I also have had a little chuckle at them! :T
They are really funny arent they, it is SO the sort of thing I would have posted, in fact look at one of my old posts, I wanted to know if I could claim from the queen cause one of her stags ran in front of my car and caused thousands of damage etc etc, the replies I got to that were not very helpful either.. :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Thank you.
I was actually supervising, perhaps I should be flogged for actually standing and watching it happen. :rolleyes:If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
I have heard that they are going to raise the legal age to buy cookies to 21, I think that it is totally irresponsable giving an innocent 14 year old a cookie and a toffee one at that, what on earth were you thinking Zoe ??0

"Crappy Cookie Cracks a Kiddie's Crown"How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I fear that Toothsmith may send me to the dental naughty step for saying this, but I love toffees and have knocked my crown out twice, as well as cracking a tooth. So much so that my dentist has given me a little perspex box to keep it in to take back for resetting...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

If you drink too much coke you expect it to ruin your teeth in the end.
If you bite a coookie would you expect it to break your tooth/filling?
if you eat too many toffee products yes :P
I was just giving an example... of why its a little bit out of order, toffee is known to be harsh on teeth, just like coke.
think this wheres there's blame, there's a claim culture is a bit silly these days.
hopefully my teeth arent rotting, but if they do, i'll be sure to have a bash now.0 -

Sorry but a crowned tooth is not as strong as a normal tooth and should be treated with care. Biting into hard things not advised !!His dental treatment will be free on the NHS so I think the offer from Tesco is fair.
You cant get children into an NHS dentist for love nor money where I live.
Like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Have to go private.
