But you aren't a single mum of 2 living solely on benefits.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Usually, I can more or less respect other peoples choices.
Some comments make me cross when people are so blinkered they can only see their own pathetic lives and almost enjoy trying to bully others.
Its not often I want to swear at any posters (besides, the filters should !!! them out anyway.) But I think most regular Bankruptcy board posters understand how I feel.0 -
Maybe harsh but I saw red when someones stupidity puts a child at risk Keep forgetting people arn't as capable as me at sorting out their own lives.Barclaycard 3800

OP please do not be taken aback by the negative comments some people insist on posting.
You are facing the harsh reality that your situation is not sustainable and as a result are doing everything in your power to make life better for you and your children. You need to remember that and be proud of the fact that you are dealing with your debt rather than sticking your head in the sand.
What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another, you have received professional advice and stay strong in your beliefsBSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008

Why have the worry of overwhelming debts!!!
Creditors (yes they want their money back) are impatient and harass people!!
Bankruptcy was an American Idea and bought to this country by the government. It is not a crime to be in debt. As long as you didn't run up the debts knowingly you wouldn't be able to pay them back then why worry!
Divorce/Unemployment/Bereavement/Illness etc. can affect anybody's income and debt0 -
How has single+2angel wasted any money Broken hearted? The maternity grant is supposed to be used as she has on baby equipment such as cots and a pram etc.
If you have got any questions single+2angel please feel free to ask or pm me as I have just been made bankrupt and I am on benefits (Income Support, Child Benefit, Housing benefit and Council Tax). I have my OR interview tomorrow and I will let you know the outcome reguarding my SOA (what has and hasn't been allowed).
I didn't pay the court fee as I filled in the exemption form. I didn't have an upto date letter of entitlement so I phoned the DWP and asked for a letter to be sent out (I did this a week before I went bankrupt).
When I filled a statement of affairs and personal balance sheet (it is in my bankruptcy diary thread if you would like to have a look). I added my Council Tax benefit(I worked out the monthly amount by dividing the years council tax benefit by 12 and putting that amount in, I also added my housing benefit to my benefits section of my income)
In the outgoings I put down my council tax benefit entitlement per month for the council tax outgoings (I hope I haven't confused you).
I also added some money for travel (I live 2 mins walk from town centre) just incase anything came up (hopsital visits - emergancy or appoinments) and I need to use public transport or taxis, we don't have a car. You need to budget for transport even if it is not always needed) as you cannot rely on credit after being declared bankrupt.
Your electric doesn't seem that high - we pay £156 a month (don't have gas or double glazing).0
