Hi!
I had an interview yesterday with CCCS and they advise me to go bankrupt .I have debt around 18.000 pounds.( CCs and 2 loan+1 overdraft) I have to fill in a form for petitioning bankruptcy in HCJ London. If somebody could give me some pointers, I would be really happy as have not got a clue about where I should begin. .I read this forum for a long time now and I am really thankful for all the posts and answers. I am in the process of doing an SOA. If I would post it would somebody help me go through it, please?

Pop your SOA here and of course, we can take a look at it for you.
With regards to the forms, I personally would dump the hard copy and do them online instead (https://www.insolvency.gov.uk). You need to register, but dealing with them online is much, much easier. They are easier to understand and you can save and come back as often as you like. Everything is laid out in sections then prints it off in the right way compared to the actual forms.0 -

My first question is going to be, why are you not entitled to tax credits??? Are you getting income support for the children then???
Did you claim the £500 sure start maternity grant?0 -

Offered token payments to credit card companies, no reply, except from halifax who told me to go to a warmer place. hehe( not exactly word by word).
When I contacted Natwest and asked help from them, they offered me another loan to help me out!!!??? consolidate the overdraft and loans from them (around 11000 and pay back 17.5 k in 5 years) I got the 2nd loan from them for exactly the same purpose with 17.9% APR in 2007.Now I said no , so they freeze my current account and put there hands on my Income support to cover the loan repayments. 2 weeks I had no money not even for nappy or formula milk for the baby. had to ask money from friend. I had IS people pay my IS by Giro after that. Opened a Post office account already and applied for cashminder account from Co-op.“Money often costs too much.”

Hi Single,
Your I&E looks fine, but the Argos debt will go into bankruptcy, it doesn't matter that it's BNPL, it's still credit that will have to go, as will the Atlantic arrears.

Skylight: Apparently my IS is paid from my CTC amount with nothing left. Tax people explained this 3 weeks ago when I tried to apply for it.

Hi Single - Well done with your SOA, the only things that stick out to me are the phone, I think £60 is the max for landline and mobile and the class fund at school should be optional. If you're on IS you shouldn't be paying it. Does your home not use gas? To balance that out you should put down something for haircuts and holiday/Christmas as that is usually allowed.

Your SOA does look fine. The utility one will go down a bit after BR as mentioned, this debt needs to be included in your BR forms. As does the Argos one. At least once you have gone BR and the utility is sorted, you can check out other suppliers and get a better deal!
I had to ask about the CTC, as we all know mistakes can happen and in some circumstances (as in your case) they do pay for the children via income support rather than CTC.
But have you claimed the sure start maternity grant for your latest baby? If not then you need to do that ASAP. as you only have a few weeks left before you cannot claim. At least it will help with your BR fees. Your court fees can be waived as you are on income support, but you will need proof - such as a letter about your entitlement, dated within one month of your BR. Otherswise you cannot claim the wiaver on the day and need to pay up and claim it another day.0 -
