say for example you are visitng friends or going out for the weekend
by following divadees tutorial you will be able to do the comp endings two days in advance and for the whole weekend.

Just a quickie, I would like to echo GemGirls excellent observation - I think we all took the lists for granted and I am in awe of the compers that compiled the end of the month lists!!
I would also say that for me personally I miss the "friendship" these boards used to generate. I would quite often have "chats" with people that had placed the comps / comments. But because of the time now involved in searching myself I hardly seem to have time for "chats" and now find it a less pleasureable pursuit. The sense of community (For me) is definately diminished.
Also, I did start off searching using Google and the "E: 13/09" site:moneysavingexpert.com method - but soon realised this doesn't pick up all the comps - and indead gives you different results each time it's run!!

Also you have to go through all of them,even if it is the title, before you could go straight to what you were interested ie: Ipods or holidays, now you have to got through everything!
I wonder why it was changed when it was working so fine!

But it wasn't working fine.

If you had followed the discussion thread you'd know that the unfortunate people who volunteered to organise and create these lists came in for a a great deal of abuse from people who moaned when lists didn't arrive when they wanted them and sent abusive messages when the compiler made a mistake. A lot of the people who were involved in these lists ended up tremendously stressed and upset.

The comps ending lists are gone because they caused so many arguments and a fair amount of upset. Plus they created more work for the board guides. Would you believe it, the people that spent a significant amount of their own time compiling them, actually received rude messages/posts? This is hardly fair. Taking all this into account it's no wonder they have been stopped.

People are just going to have to accept they are gone and realise they were lucky to have them when they did, but now they have to rely on themselves only when it comes to enter comps.

Entering comps by end date is only one way of using this board. You could enter all comps posted that day or since you last visited.....you could sort the thread by start time, go right back to the oldest thread and work your way back through the boards (I did this). You could even search by prize i.e. "laptop" or "holiday" and enter comps by prize.

I appreciate change can be difficult and confusing but it's time to move on and change the way you 'comp'!!! :T

I have to say im seriously crap with computers, and was really worried when the lists dissapeared. But its so easy to do, it really is, if i can do it, everyone can! Im up to the 25 sept at the mo, and finding it easier than the lists!

I don't understand why people are still moaning about the lists when a decision has been made in the best interests of the forum.
Divadee spent a long time sorting out the forum, the moaners about the lists don't seem to appreciate this or be very thankful?
she has posted great advice on how you can now do the lists for yourself. and it does work and it's the way some of us list makers used to make them.
Instead of thinking life can't go on without them, trying using her advice and you will find that it can. [insert smily here]

Can I suggest that those who post competitions post the URL instead of clicky so thatothers can copy and paste the URL in a new window. It also makes it easier to search for competitions that are already posted while the 'clicky' hides the site and so searching by URL address would not work.
