Im not sure if this is the right place to post, but can I just a question about email comps? What I want to know is when putting the answer do you just put the answer for instance "red" or do you put "answer: red" or doesnt it matter either way. Many thanks for your help.

    Hi

I do the same as almac with roughly the same template, which I have found works well, it has all the info that they would need.

I have a standard thing that I copy and paste for email competitions that looks abit like:

    Name
    House Name
    Village
    Town
    Postcode

    email address

    home phone number
    mobile number

    date of birth

I tend to put the answer at the beginning of the email but dont normally put answer - normally just the answer

I alwas put (as per judys example) "answer: red" but I don't think this wil make a differnce to be honest, I assume it works in most cases like this:

They'll have a filter system on the email which will pull out all the emails with the correct subject (this is why you should always make sure you get he subject correct - the smallest error could discount your entry!) then an e-mail will be picked at random and probably checked manualy, as the vast majority of entrys will be correct anyway!

I'm not 100% sure, but that's how I'd do it! even if they do filter by correct answer in the body of the e-mail - it would have to search the whole e-mail so having the word "answer" in front would be irrelivent.

So in summary - either way should be fine!

I don't need to ask if any of you have received the email from Ramada Docklands because I can see you have in the list of emails included in it!! Yup another one

I have emailed them expressing my disgust and thought you may all like the heads up on it!

Afternoon folks! :) I'm after some assistance with the Comping Guide please :)

Just trying to catch up with comps & came across this thread where the comp organiser would prefer the answers not to be posted on the site & it is something that isn't already in the Guide. I thought it might help us all if there was a list we could refer back to for these types of sites...?

So I am asking for help identifying the sites which prefer answers not to be posted:
    • Allinlondon.co.uk 'The Friday Four' - Do not post answers
    • mumszone.co.uk - Do not post answers
    • lawandmore.co.uk - Do not post any info other than a link to the comp on their site
    • Any others.....?
Once the info is gathered, I'll put it into the Posting Comps Section, under a suitable heading like " Do any sites not want their comps/answers posted?"

Thanks for your help with this! :)

Edit - Thanks kipper, have updated those!
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

    Just a thought,

Has anyone on here ever won any of those competitions where you subscribe to a news letter, and they pick a newsletter subscriber every month to give a prize? So you only enter your e-mail address once, and it menas your entered into monthly draws indefinatly. It's just for some reason I don't trust most of them! But if they are genuine I figure some one on here would have won one by now!!

Hope I've made clear what I mean there!!
