Reporting posts is awkward

Who said anyone is upset?
I was actually asking originally because more and more spam is appearing, especially in the 'Up Your Income' forum.
Ahh...well....err...spam, I forgot about that.
Yes, I agree!
Normally it's people crying about who said what to who. :whistle:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I can't report posts here as they open up outlook express and I don't use that.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

I can set my browser (Explorer) options to open whichever email client that I want to use whether it is Outlook Express or Hotmail, it opens a seperate window and I send it.
If you are of a mind to report a post in the first place then it must be worth a little bit of effort, surely.0 -

Or as an alternative (and as sra said somewhere else), hover over the 'abuse' triangle, right click on 'Copy Link Location', and paste the result into the subject line of your chosen email 'compose' box.I can't report posts here as they open up outlook express and I don't use that.
You'll get one long line, which for convenience I've split into three:
mailto:abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
?subject=Reportingposthttp://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/
showpost.html?p=13954987
If you delete everything before "Reporting" and type the abuse address into the 'To' box, it'll look just like any other abuse report.
I'm not saying there aren't easier ways of doing it, and it doesn't help if you can't get webmail on your computer - but then, if work has blocked webmail, do they expect you to be on MSE?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Which is my point exactly - it is too long winded. Any other site, two clicks are your done, no matter what email or webmail you use.
If there is a good reason then it is fair enough, but if it is convienience for 10 staff, over convienience for 376,000 users, that is where it becomes questionable

I dont use outlook so I cant report spam, or email technical support as I tried to do a few hours earlier.
There is no reason to not make it friendly for those of us who use web based email0 -
I agree with robt
Another forum I use, I just click the red triangle, add a comment if necessary, and click submit.
I rarely bother on MSE if I see spam because it's so long-winded - so I trust that someone else will do it - which isn't very community-spirited, granted...0 -

At least by reading this thread I've learnt what "webmail" means!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0
