Reporting posts is awkward

Does anyone else feel that more posts would get reported if the 'report post' link was used in the same fashion as other forums, ie it is web based form when you click it?
I guess a large percentage of people do not use an email client - and to the majority of them the link is pretty useless - I know that personally myself I just think that it is too much hassle to bother with, messing about with copying and pasting email address and subjects.
Does anyone else feel that it could be easier? Or is it just me?

It takes about 20 seconds to report posts. I personally would not take the time required to fill in a form. Hate the things. At present you don't even have to give a reason, just let the mods see for themselves.0

You do not have to fill a form in - it is normally just a text box to add a comment if you wish and then click submit.
But anyway - are you using an email client or webmail?0 -
I quite often view this website at work. Outlook is disabled on the computer at work I use, as there is no e-mail address there, therefore I am actually unable to report posts! It would be better if it was web-based, as currently it is impossible for me to report posts.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -
There are good reasons why MSE has set up the resport system as we have it so unless you come up with a really great idea I think it will remain. Sra has a guide somewhere about using it with googlemail, I'm sure he'll come on and post it soon.0

It does not matter if there is a guide or not - there should not need to be one to start with. Like someone else has pointed out, you actually can not use the report post in some environments. I don't need to come up with a great idea, as the feature is a standard one, already included.
It is a standard vBulletin feature - maybe a member of staff could explain why they have decided to disable it for us, as it works fine on every other site powered by vBulletin?0 -

Can't you use webmail?0 -
Wouldn't it be much easier to censor all the posts you aren't happy with yourself?
Shut your eyes....read another thread....use the off switch. Who cares what other people write? The day I get upset over something written by someone I don't know, and doesn't know me, is the day I have my broadband disconnected.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Who said anyone is upset?
I was actually asking originally because more and more spam is appearing, especially in the 'Up Your Income' forum.0 -
The speed of dealing with "bad" posts is also too slow.
If a non-email approach to reporting was used, wouldn't it be possible to automatically hide posts if they were reported (say) 3 times? I am sure that most of the spam posts are reported very many times, but they can still sit there for hours and get unnecessary reply posts which clutter up the forum.0
