It was supposed to be mildly amusing, that's all....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Sorry, I did take it as a dig (and sorry on the nanny post I am sure you are doing what it is best for your child) as my post is genuine.neverdespairgirl wrote: »It was supposed to be mildly amusing, that's all.
But it is not that amusing on the basis that every man and his dog prefer to call me a name rather than debate. It seems that if you do not agree with the majority on this site people try to bully you off (and this is happening).0 -
I didn't mean to make you feel persecuted, I'm sorry.
It was a phrase my Granny used about (in particular) men who went on about themsevles all the time, that's all!
I do think people will mildly rib you if you keep saying you are off and come back, but that's not oppressing you really, is it?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
But should I feel I have to leave a board in the first place, just because I may have differing views or be in a different situation to other people on here?neverdespairgirl wrote: »I didn't mean to make you feel persecuted, I'm sorry.

Yes, I'm sorry but its human nature to single out those who are strange and different and then ostracise them. Its an evolutionary function in the most part and has seen us rise from being shrimps with little squiggly tails to the dominant species on planet earth.
If you can survive on your own in the wilderness then that indicates that your abnormality is in fact a desirable trait that will be embraced by all on your return.0 -

I hope that does not mean I have to breed with all of you!0 -
If you can survive for a year in housepricecrash.co.uk you can come back and be the dominant male.0

I think you could argue the case of two different species. Also I would not like to be their dominant male! But thanks for the offer:eek: .:)0
