    Well.......I defaulted on my mortgage payment for this month (on the 21st) and as expected,the mortgage company were very quick off the mark. Got a letter this morning (24th) asking me to get in touch to ''make alternative arrangements to pay''....... Ermmm....hello...I don't have any money !!

    What to do ??
  • i thought that if you could afford everything except the unsecured debts with an 80 quid surplus, then you go on a dmp to pay off the unsecured debts over time at a below minimum payment arrangement. no?

    I don't know BQ..... All this is doing my head in ! Can't think straight. Have you looked at my SOA ??

    I've just discovered that I've got an appointment to see a specialist debt advisor a the CAB on the 14th of October.......maybe we'll get things moving then ?

    Yes,you're quite right...we're all in this mess because of the banks behaviour ! Seriously ! What you said about the credit limits..... My CC has ended up with a £9500 limit on it !! :eek: I didn't ask for it...they just kept increasing it. Now look at the mess I'm in ! :mad: I've also had them refuse me a loan.....and they've been my bank for 38 years !!

    Yes,it's definately al the banks fault.....throwing money around like there was no tommorow. Well,for some of us there may not be.....

    Banks going bust ?? Damn well serves them right ! They won't even lend to each other now !!

    * Rant off//

    Oh yes of course its the banks fault :cool:

    Well I sincerely hope it is not a dig at anyone finding themselves in a dreadful position and having to file for bankruptcy as it is no EASY route to take for anyone, as can be seen here by the amount of people posting regarding the situation they find themselves in. And this forum is about NOT judging people.

    I happen to agree with Jay on the banks, they gave money away like there was no tomorrow for years, now tomorrow has caught up with people, and life is not always a bar of chocolate either, you never know what may be around the corner, illness, redundancy, divorce etc.

    Jeff on what to do, get the money for the rent, and get a place and get the money for the BR fees, you can take it from the CC and bank as others have said, but just get on now and get some peace of mind that you are moving forward.

    If you can find somewhere to rent privately do so, it saves the hassle of agents etc. You can be upfront with the person about the BR and in your defence you can state without the debts there will be no possibility of your not paying the rent as it will be your main priority.

    Keep smiling.
