  • Lets rise up, lets march on parliment, let our voices be heard by the many, lets start the protest, lest start the revolution.... Brown OUT!!!!!

oh wait there is a protest exclusion zone around parliment, lets all go home and have hot milk and a hob nob instead.

Its this attitude that we brits seem to have that is the reason why brown will sit in number 10 until the summer of 2010. I sometimes wish we were more "french".

By the by I see the scots have plans to scrap council tax in favour of a local "income tax".

Brilliant - another opportunity for the young to subsidise the old.
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

You know, we're usually all so dignified and philosophical when we discuss issues on this board [/QUOTE

Thank you for my sole giggle of today

I tried to stir us in to a march ...lots of people said yes, then I suggested as a first step, one of those petitions and put up the link and asked for a group effort in wording.....suddenly it went very quiet.

I remain willing to help with any (legal) demonstration or organised and dignified protest and prepared to help in any way I can (as I said before I think the first thing would be a role call of support and a non MSE affiliated web page for organisation).

Fantastic - I was just thinking the same but would have no idea where to start. I missed your link last time - would you be kind enough to post it again (preferably on a new thread to make it obvious generally).

To action! But surely, given the number of extremely effed off people as a result of these proposals, has someone not already posted a petition? Any ideas anyone?

How about swinging the might of the MSE housing forum behind the debate? ;)

Seriously - this is the final straw for me - I AM VERY ANGRY.

(Just getting that off my chest. Don't feel much better though. Will feel better when Gordon the Moron personally reverses the policy and apologises in grovelly fashion to the taxpayers of Great Britain for this outrageous waste of their hard-earned money.)

    To action!

I dont understand what your all moaning about? House Prices will still continue their decline.
  • This latest set of policies has really worked me up. The good thing to come of it is that I have realised that most people are passionate about politics - it's just we've been silenced into doing nothing.

It is time for change! It has been time for change for some time, and how many of us have DONE anything about it? It is time for a return to active politics - we pay the wages, we elect them. They are accountable to us. We want an election now.

Count me in on any petition/protest etc. Maybe I should get a website started to get support...

I think that is a good idea...My concern is that MSE mods might feel uncomfortable if we all get out our banners here.....unless :money: feels the same way.

I am really, really fked off about this! What can we actually do about this other than just post anonymously on discussion boards and moan?! Can we MAKE the government call an election??? They are, after all, supposed to be doing OUR bidding?! WE employ THEM and they're making a mockery of our sovereignty!

Are we really powerless to do anything about this???

    It is called democracy! LOL

A couple of options on a serious note -
    1) Emigrate
    2) Run for Prime Minster
    3) Run for Chancellor
    4) (Or my personal favourite) - spend all your money, lose your job and get on benefits and start sponging, because after 50 years of hard work what thanks will you get.

I say join the club and milk the system...

Now is that not happy days, and is that not what makes this country a great pile of sh**!

I used to be proud to call myself English (not British as some smarta** will say there is no such thing), but this is not the only major issue that we are facing in the UK. The whole country is falling apart - education, the NHS, the local government, central government, human rights, the penal system, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, gambling, etc...

How is that for a rant... :T
