How to unlock a Nokia 6500 slide on Orange?

I have a Nokia 6500 slide (brand new from Orange - unwanted upgrade) which I want to sell. Looking at the stickies on here it seems to suggest this can be unlocked using a code but someone has told me that it will cost between £25-£35 to unlock it and this will affect the price. Please can anyone confirm how I would go about getting the phone unlocked and approximate cost? Many thanks.

really? Won't it cost me to send back etc and this will come to more? What do I tell them - they are going to ask why I want it unlocked?

they wont ask any questions, as long as you pay the £20, if they do just say you are may be going away, abroard and want to use a local sim as its much cheaper.
I they they unlock it via nokia using the individual IMEI number of your phone

yep, im pretty sure that what all networks do.

to get your imei number, press *#06# and it should come up with a 15 digit number. thats the phone's IMEI
