Interesting question as my surname is a non english one and I've wondered if this is a hindrance when entering competitions. I haven't won anything so far but then I've only started entering lots of comps at the beginning of August.

I always use my real name... not really unusual in anyway but it's the only one I've got!

My name isnt typically english and use my boyfriends surname for my email address which is Polish and had a fair few wins - been asked for ID on a number of occasions. Esp for concert ticket wins, festival wins, nights in hotels and free meals - have had to show photo ID for these too.
