Nah, they're only interested in getting money out of you, they'll go away once they know they're not going to scam you.

    Hi,
I was trying to sell my car, and i was approached by the buyer (face to face) saying he is going to export the car and needs me to keep section 11 (Notification of permanent export) and send it to DVLA and he wanted the rest documentation as he will need it whilke exporting.
Is it legal what he is saying? I think i'll be responsible for the car if he exports it straight away?!

That's brilliant; stupid, greedy or both? :rotfl:

My sister had a similar thing when she advertised a room for rent in her house. The guy wanted to rent the room for his daughter who was studying at the "University of England" and he wanted to send her a cheque for four weeks rent, plus four weeks as a deposit plus another £1000 on top! She replied that if he was going to pay out all that money, she assumed that he would like to see some pictures of the room. She sent him some pics of a broken down shed, the inside of a toilet and a picture of a large drooling scary dog for good measure adding, "I hope your daughter likes animals" Every time she replied to him, she signed off with a different name. It took eight weeks before he finally stopped replying to her increasingly demented emails! :rotfl::rotfl:

It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)

Also trying to sell my car on Autotrader and had an email from a 'scammer', but he is offering to pay the funds into my bank account by money transfer. presumably this is cleared cash and the bank won't reverse it. I have a redudant account I can use so there won't be any other funds in there apart from this.

    Any thoughts??

I would tell him to pay you by Western Union, thats the only way you can guarantee that you will get the payment, in good old cash!!
