    Morning peeps :)

    mrsbluebear

It's obvious that there's been a lack of customer care shown towards you imo and as a last resort I'd snail mail Boots. You shouldn't have to 'challenge' a SA (what the hell - who wants to do that? I certainly wouldn't). I'm only suggesting snail mail as I seem to recall one poster at least who seemed to gain more headway by doing it that way rather than emailing or phoning.

When I first started Bootsing in earnest ;) it was a manic time as it was just after Christmas and during a time when there was a similar situation as there is now - till splits that everyone was using and I knew that some of the stores' staff were harrassed by people asking what these splits could be used on. Myself and OH were shocked at the way a couple (or more) members of staff were actually raising their voices at the customers, but when it happened to my OH the red mist descended.

I waited until my blood pressure had lowered itself ;) and sat down to type a very long email listing everything that we'd witnessed and every occasion that we'd had bad service, when it had happened, where it happened, but didn't name the SA's involved - I figured that if they wanted to they could figure it out for themselves just by looking at the history of my transactions.

I also mentioned that to get to their stores it was a 30 mile round trip in some cases, and that the parking charges were always a minimum of £1.80

At the time there were a few posters who were just as disgruntled as myself and my OH, and many were awarded points - a lot of points in some cases. There seemed to be an influx of posters who were complaining and posting about how many points they'd been awarded and my own interpretation of this was that some people were complaining just to gain points.

Because of this, and because I really was livid about the poor service I thought we'd received, I mentioned in my email that I wasn't looking for any form of compensation, an apology would have been sufficient or even a reassurance that the staff should be reminded that good manners costs nothing. I think Sod's Law in reverse happened as I received a considerable amount of points as compensation.

Please don't think I'm suggesting that you're looking for compensation because that's the furthest thing from my mind, but it's obvious to me that you've received poor service on at least two occasions, which, in my opinion, is two too many. It's bad enough when sales assistants let you down, but it's even worse when Customer Services don't seem to care either - something else that has been noticed by a few other posters in recent months. So for that reason alone, I'd put pen to paper and write it all down. (I seem to recall that one of the posters knew the best address to send any written complaints to. I can't recall who it was at the time but I'm sure someone will know).

Sorry for the long post and for being slightly off topic, but poor service is totally unacceptable and a sure way for Boots to lose customers and S*perdrug to gain them.

    Good luck x

Be back later to read all of the shopping lists :)

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed reply :) I have sent the email now and will wait to see what happens, I actually haven't asked anywhere in my email for compensation as my reasons for writing it were the fact I was so throughly disappointed in the service itself. I have emailed CS numerous times to praise their customer service and their sales assistants, and never asked for anything in return, I don't want to be rewarded for being a loyal and long term customer, just be treated as one iykwim :)

And the last line of my email was that I was unhappy with customer services at the moment, and hope that it may be rectified...by way of an apology or at least some understanding that customers should not be treated in this manner.

Personally, how I feel at the moment, is that even if I were to be given points as compensation I would not feel happy with spending them. The last few days have made me stressed out and unhappy with boots overall, hence the long and drawn out email I sent...not to gain from it, but for it at least be acknowledged and maybe some words to be had with the SA from Lancome, so that another customer doesn't have to face the embarassment of being refused items they are perfectly entitled to.

    Morning All !

Can anyone please tell me if MrB will accept return of a MF mascara ?
It is sealed in packet, I have the receipt and I'd like the money back as I discovered I still have several unused Av*n ones in my drawer!!(wouldn't be stating that as my reason, though!)

They should do, though it is very random and dependent on the SA you get. Some will say "you can't return cosmetics"; others will actually use their common sense and see that it is sealed and therefore unused! Try it; if they say no, take it back elsewhere.

Found this on the mag thread, and apparently also on the grabbit board, lol. If anyone finds a WHSmith that has the free makeup, please share it here!

Today only at selected mainline whsmiths and airports, buy Glamour magazine (£2) and get a L'oreal Makeup Palette. I've only seen this at Victoria train station and not sure where any others are or if it's nationwide.

The 3 choices are Doutzen Kroes Star Secrets Kit, Penelope Cruz Star Secrets Kit and Milla Jovovich Star Secrets Kit.

Is it specifically the £7.50 one or anything they have?

hmmm now that I am not sure about, she asked me about it when I had seen it in the sale (75% off) a few months ago, so I am guessing the cheaper the better (as we are all moneysavers!! lol) but if you saw some and it wasnt too expensive and was sealed etc maybe, if you didnt mind you could get it and if it was too much for her, return it for a refund  I am sorry I know its a lot to ask but I just know how desperate she is to get this perfume (I didnt get any when I saw it as I had never heard of it :o and didnt have the chance to get back to the out of town branch for her in time  ) but now it is a name firmly imprinted on my (little) brain, filed under (baby mini) belle! thanks ladies for all your kind offers of help for the sweetie that is bebebelle. :D
