I have bought top up vouchers for my daughters phone - they give it like a till spit and all you do is text the unique number on it from your phone - really easy! Goes on immediately - HTH xx

Just a thought - but if you can get AC magazine with a temporary adv card, maybe that's the way to go if you're picking up hundreds of the things!

Just catching up but I have also been told that the mags were one per TRANSACTION on a few occasions - would argue this if they wanted to try and charge me LOL!

"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

Just out of curiosity (I'm picky!!) where does it say that you can only have one H&B mag per Advantage Card? I got another one today and though it has the bit on the front as to it being £1 or free to cardholders, I can't find anything in it or instore to say one only. Is it on the website?
The coupons say "One per person", of course, but that doesn't mean you can't have multiple mags, or pick extras up for friends, surely?

Anyhow, I've done the TD points coupon + tillspit thing about 8 times now, sometimes on reduced TD, some on sub-£5 items and even on one £9.99 item. The points coupon has never beeped nor have any of the SAs so much as blinked at this combo. How difficult would it be for Boots to set the till programming so that you could only use one of each mag offer coupon per AC? If they can't, then their system was set up by numpties, quite frankly.

(Goes away and makes a cup of tea and thinks about this....)

Actually, on reflection and thinking about many of the past glitches, it's pretty obvious that their computer system is a bit of a shambles. There's a lack of consistency across branches as to what beeps and what doesn't, the tills accept coupon combos in breach of their own T&Cs (usually the "not to be used with any other offer" condtion) and the individual managers seem to have their own individual inputs into the till system too. (I expect they're all highly trained in IT use...not.) The Boots till system is almost undoubtably losing them money hand over fist but...only when it comes to a very small minority of customers ie us and similarly clued-up Bootsers. And of course we probably do increase our spending because of the increased number of visits we make to Boots to get the good glitches...well, I certainly do...so it will balance out in the end. Boots have probably run a financial analysis on this and concluded that the cost of overhauling and reprogramming the entire system is an awful lot more than they lose through the small (relatively speaking) amount of money the glitches cost them.

But..... I expect every so often someone goes overboard and then it's just too much for the Boots system to ignore. They are not going to care about half a dozen TD glitches on one card. They will care about 60 done on one card or someone having twenty ACs all with virtual babies. And every so often they will feel the need to make an example of someone.
    Val.
  • I have been neglecting my Boots-thread-reading-duties :o Isn't it hard to catch up!? Glad there's a nice new thread. :D

Went to Wrexham yesterday for the first time. I really enjoyed it there, only a small-ish shop but an upstairs too, which I liked for when I had to rummage in my vouchers wallet! :rotfl:
Got one of those R & M mirrors with the little red shiny case to put it in. I'm going to pop it in my daughters stocking at Christmas. Lovely looking little thing it is too - thanks to welshmule for finding them and Ameliasmummy for showing the pic and explaining exactly where they were. :T There were 3 left when I got mine, although Ive just been catching up on the last thread and welshmule reported there was only one. So we may have crossed paths there yesterday. I was the lady wearing bright pink (to distract from bargains at til ;) ) navigating the stairs many times, delving in her oversized handbag for multiple vouchers and looking rather stressed!! I only saw one couple though, they were very kissy kissy by the drinks fridge - was that you and your OH welshmule? :D

Also noticed that the suncare was half price and BOGOF First time I've come across this. Managed to get the No 7 GWP with suncare. Used the 250 No 7 voucher out of my first GWP to get the No 7 Liplicious, along with the 100 points mag voucher and using a £5 No 7 pinkie. So £4.25 and 350 points for a Liplicious. I like that deal. Shall do it again with my new GWP voucher.

One of the sales assistants in Wrexham was an absolute angel too, when buying my stuff she suggested something I could get with the skincare tilspit and then even ran off to find it for me! Best thing was, a survey then popped out at the end. Who says no good deed goes unpunished. :D Hopefully she'll get a bit of praise when my feedback goes through. She also said that they had been getting loads of Time Delay wipes too! I ran off to check but they had all gone. LOL. If any of you live close, she said they come in pretty early.

Might pop into Chester this afternoon (going for haircut in town so would be rude not to ;) ) and see if we have any new mags yet. Will also have a quick look to see if suncare if half price and if so will report back. Also will check if any Ted Baker bags. I want a leather one.

If Mr B does read this thread daily can you tell Chester manager to reinstate his/her clearance stand pleasethankyou 'cos one display full of tights is just not doing it for me. :rotfl:

Sooo sorry for the length of this. :o

  • Morning all, just back from Mr B's, lol got most of the usual bits, but also thought as I'm in the Heath club I would buy some of the Slim fast smoothies, to try as on offer at half price, well they are currently on 3 for 2 in store so my reciept shows I was charged .67p for 2 of them which is half price and the 3rd comes through free. So bascially if you are in the health club buy 1 smoothie and get 2 free, hope this makes sense.

Classy hun, when I have bought the Clinique GWP and used the 750 points I paid with cash hun. If you pay with points you can't use the coupons to get extra points.
