Sorry to snip the post, but do you really mean that the sales assistants can just decide that they don't want to let customers use vouchers??
If so, surely that should be advertised on every voucher, and at every checkout! After all, what use is advertising that every customer gets 2 vouchers on a £5 spend to use in store if the customer can be refused the use of the voucher at the point of sale??
Then it would be better to say that you get vouchers, but whether you are able to use them depends on the mood of the particular sales assistant that is at the till you go to at the time!
Somehow I think that Boots head office staff (or whoever decides what offers/vouchers will be given out) wouldn't appreciate the people at the tills all deciding that they'd taken enough vouchers and denying people the chance to use them. After all, that could mean Boots were guilty of false advertising!
*Please note I'm not trying to be argumentative, and I hope I misunderstood your post, but if you meant what you wrote, I think that Boots could potentially have a massive problem on their hands!*
Noooo I don't mean that!
What I mean is if a voucher doesn't scan through the till, we can still shout a team manager and get them to override/ add the points manually. (I know this has been happening with a lot of the ModelMe vouchers lately)
e.g. One of my customers yesterday had a parenting club voucher for 500 extra points. The till was refusing it, so technically I should have given it back to her so she could use it another day. Instead a shouted a team manager and got them to add the points for her.0 -
I have been scouring the shelves for that TD Anti Red stuff and certainly have not seen any body moisturiser. Isn't it annoying when you find something that a) works and b) you actually like, and they pull it!
I bet there are some obscure Boots stores with heaps of these precious items that we all [strike]need [/strike] want and there is probably one lucky lurker sitting watching us all panic whilst counting their stash.
God how paranoid am I! :rotfl:
there was loads of this in Meadowhall and all reduced. . HTH x0 -
hello!
normally i just lurk, but i found some charles worthington maximum shine serum 30ml bottles (like friz ease) in the reduced section in norwich, marked down to £1.00. when it goes through the till takes off £1.00 also as part of an offer, making them Free!!!!:j
i didn't reailse this when i picked them up, i was having a super bad hair day, so i took all 5 i found, only noticed when i thought my shopping was a bit cheap and checked the reciept.
hope this helps another frizzy bootser, and sorry if this has been posted already somewhere!0 -

Basically, if a voucher scans through then its fine.
The till acceps it & will take money off/add points onto card.
I was referring to vouchers that don't scan for one reason or another!
If its obvious that the customer has purchased a certain product & is using a voucher off it, the SA can override it.
However if the voucher is for a product the customer hasnt purchased OR for some reason the voucher wont work because the product is already on offer... Some SA's will hand the voucher straight back to the customer, while some SA's (like myself) will 9 times out of 10 add the points anyway if they can't see any reason why the till isnt accepting the voucher!0 -
mrsbluebear wrote: »Also, may sound mental, but why am I always charged £3.23 for a meal deal?!?! Isn't it meant to £2.99?
do you know, when I went to the place that shall not be mentioned, I too was charged £3.23 for a meal deal:eek: .. I even went back in to query (sp) it and the (sorry but she was) Hitler SA said NO ITS RIGHT:mad: , so i ran to hide behind my carrot cake! it was advertised as £2.99 meal deal, but I was too scared to argue and at the end of the day I was falling out over 24p but . think about it if they make 24p out of everyone who gets a meal deal... they will be very rich very quick!
rant over .. lol x0 -

Sorry I think I caught the wrong end of the stick earlier and yes 9 times out of 10, the sa's do try but I suppose for every 10 sa's we get there will always be one who doesn't. I know that the majority of the time the sa's do get a bad reputation but there are also good ones.0 -
is the place that shall not be named in London?
I know there are some price variations down there!0
