do you know, when I went to the place that shall not be mentioned, I too was charged £3.23 for a meal deal:eek: .. I even went back in to query (sp) it and the (sorry but she was) Hitler SA said NO ITS RIGHT:mad: , so i ran to hide behind my carrot cake! it was advertised as £2.99 meal deal, but I was too scared to argue and at the end of the day I was falling out over 24p but . think about it if they make 24p out of everyone who gets a meal deal. .. they will be very rich very quick!
    rant over .. lol x

Surely, they should sell it to you at the price advertised
  • Sorry I think I caught the wrong end of the stick earlier and yes 9 times out of 10, the sa's do try but I suppose for every 10 sa's we get there will always be one who doesn't. I know that the majority of the time the sa's do get a bad reputation but there are also good ones.

    You're exactly right.
People are too quick to criticise & don't take the time to offer praise to good service. I now make a point that if I've had good customer service, to speak to the manager and let them know. It's nice to be recognised for good work.
  • Are there any SS till sin any of the Norwich stores, do you know, Merdoom? Is it worth me travelling an hour (bus-I don't drive, sadly) or so tomorrow for a nose around in Narch? Is there much of interest, is what I mean, lol? E.g. No 7 bags, or R&M bags or anything really?

*waves* Hello btw my fellow Norfolk n good gal. xxx

    Erm...I mean hi! lol.

That's a very good point actually - we're all quick enough to complain but not always so quick to praise. There are 2 particular SAs in my local store who are lovely, go above & beyond the call of duty to help and have unlimited patience with my endless vouchers and various transactions. Next I go in I'm going to speak to the manager and tell her/him what a couple of excellent staff she/he's got there :D
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p

    Good news...

You can order ANY item that is on boots.com including 'web exclusives' from ANY till point in ANY store. The service is called 'Boots Direct'. He said however alot of SA's may not know about it as it is not used alot nor promoted as such. You will get points as normal when you pay but not any 'web exclusive' points etc

    Bad(ish) news...

Boots.com do provide a service where you can order online and pay and then get it delivered to your local store free(thereby getting 'web exclusive' points and promotions) this is only currently availible to large stores due to storage issues etc. However it was temprarily suspended over a week ago as they are having MAJOR issues due to their new website. The impact of this may last till end of October. They will try to reinstate this before November in time for xmas ordering and there will be a link on the help pages to what stores it applies to.

So you can get your buggy delivered :) Hope that helps hun :)

Oh thank you so so much, I really do appreciate that.

Now, my problem is I have bought a buggy  and I have a card bulging with points............... help!!!!!!!!!!

  • Basically, if a voucher scans through then its fine.
The till acceps it & will take money off/add points onto card.
I was referring to vouchers that don't scan for one reason or another!
If its obvious that the customer has purchased a certain product & is using a voucher off it, the SA can override it.
However if the voucher is for a product the customer hasnt purchased OR for some reason the voucher wont work because the product is already on offer... Some SA's will hand the voucher straight back to the customer, while some SA's (like myself) will 9 times out of 10 add the points anyway if they can't see any reason why the till isnt accepting the voucher!

I must admit I have used the quote 'dragon SA' as I have come across a few but it is few and far between the Sa's in my local especially one of the No7 ladies , perfume lady and a handful of others are absoloutly fantastic and cannot be faulted. They are very friendly, professional and polite. I think as they are so nice I really see the difference when I visit another store.
I have recently had 'trouble' with the use of the 'model me' voucher and a team manager came over to discuss and I felt quite intimidated by her ( and I do hate seeing her when I go in now!) this voucher has annoyed me as it has never scanned but the Team leader made me feel as if I was trying to pull the wool over her eyes and tried to fob me off with a feeble excuse. It is the voucher that it at fault and not the SA but the excuses for the voucher not working were incorrect.
This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

I think the signs say 'from' £2.99 for a MD

a few replies now i have caught up.. no the place that shall not be named is not London lol.. and the meals were advertised at £2.99
holly, the anti red stuff was in MH not last week, week before and it was stacked high!!!
and I dont actually think that any store HAS to sell you anything at the advertised price by law... they can refuse to sell anything IIFC (sorry if I have got this wrong, its a while since I worked in retail!)
