i make a mean stew... if you use a slow cooker it's easy!!
coat in flour, fry off in onions (or not) and mushrooms (or not) 4 oxos... 3/4 pint of water... lob it all in..........
leave for a week..... or 7 hours on low......
yum yum yum!!!
It's the flour that is the thickening factor, so very important... well that and remember gravy granules are your friend!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

You certainly seem to know what you're talking about!I've got a bit lazy cos it's usually just me and I can't be bothered making much of an effort, but I love cooking for other people when I get the chance. Curries are my speciality but I did make a pretty good chilli the other day - did the usual tomato sauce for the mince but didn't put kidney beans in, instead had a three bean salad on the side with a minty dressing, worked quite well I think!
