At first I thought she maybe drives off to work afterwards but she doesn't work and drives the 200 yards back again. Sometimes when it's busy she has to find a space another 200 yards past the school. Crazy.

They're both as thin as a rake!:D
But my illustration of them wasn't to condemn them for being lazy (that they are) but to illustrate how screwed up their 04 plate car must be with these micro stop/start journeys. The man without a signature.0 -
Jesus Wept, I heard some daft ideas but this has to take the biscuit, its bad enough that the car in front of me, doesnt take off the very nano second the lights turn to green, Time to invest in some big bull bars I reckon.0

Yes, I must admit to having had the thought once or twice, when stuck at a junction with a numpty who won't pull out despite adequate gaps in the traffic being passed up, of just pressing the accelerator and just making the decision for them.0 -

why can they not judge the lights and be ready to go?
to thick to notice a pattern i think....work permit granted!0 -
Probably colour blind due to lack of exercise from not walking overfed pampered children to school - therefore can't see the colours, plus not notice that the lights are changing (even if can see the colours) as too busy talking on their mobiles discussing yesterdays episode of Loose Women - plus they have one of these silly cars that turns itself off at the lights too.goldspanners wrote: »a pet hate of mine too.

I am sure that when the alternator is charging the battery it places a load on the engine thus using more fuel. So if you stopped and started the engine the fuel saved would be used charging the battery back up.0

For us Average Joes with normal cars I'd only recommend switching off regularly:
once the engine has reached operating temperature,
where it is signed or recommended at level crossings,
if you are 2nd or 3rd or more in a queue to prevent delay to other motorists
I agree.:beer:0
