Airline Insolvancy Cover

So.... given Zoom airlines going bang, I'm keen to get some insurance cover that covers me if the other low price Canadian airline goes bust.
However, I've trawled lots of policy documents and I can't work out for the life of me which policies cover it. What should I look for. Any tips?
Thanks...

or book through a travel agent for protection.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are S0466/3973. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0

I've already booked online direct with Canadian Affair, so I'm looking for insurance.Diamond_Olly wrote: »or book through a travel agent for protection.0 -
If you have booked through Canadian Affair it already has an ATOL which means if the airline goes bust, they have to replace it with an alternative airline or give you the money back. If Canadian Affair go bust at the same time, they are owned by a Canadian airline, the CAA will give you the money back, so you have nothing to worry about.
For those booking direct with airlines, you need to ask for Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance which should cost around £5 pp but is only sold by travel agents not not direct by insurers. It therefore makes a lot of sense when there are rumours of more failures in the pipeline to book if you can through a company with an ATOL, it may cost more, it often costs the same or less but you know your money is safe from day 10 -
Hi, just saw the tonights programme, and i'm concerned that a number of low cost airlines will go to the wall. I have recently purchased flights for summer 2009 for the family through a low cost airline (jet2), and have heard a number of rumours about the financial status. does anyone know if or were I can purchase insurance to cover possible insolancy. Thanx0

is there any insurance that will cover the actual costs of failure?
For instance, if I book to the Caribbean on XL in October, it will cost about £250.
If they go bust, it will likely cost £750 to get last-minute replacement tickets.
Refunding the £250 is utterly useless, because you'd get that back from the card company.0 -

hmm, had a look at Post Office, seems if the company goes bust before departure you get the cost of the accommodation back, but they won't pay for new flights unless you are already there.0
