you should contact your tax office and find out why you are on a non cumulative tax code
I'd bet it was because of the job changes.
Somewhere along the line her previous pay details/tax deductions haven't been accounted for. Tax office are so slow at this sort of thing though it's best to get them to look into it asap as CLAPTON says.I have worked for 3 companies, 2 as a contractor before starting a permanent job in July.0 -
Was your tax code previously 526L? If so, hopefully you should have a coding notice that should explain what makes up your tax code. After googling tax questions I came across this forum in the hope of finding an answer. I understand all tax codes within 'L' bracket were increased by 60 increasing employees personal allowance increase by £600. All of my collegues have received this yet mine is on 586L, an increase of 43 from 543L; just trying to make some sense out of it all, any reasoning for this?I am an Accountant. Hi there,
I have just started a new job and recieved my first payslip
the tax code is 603L M1
what is the M1??? anyone know
is this an emergency tax code? I handed in my P45 when I started so I should be in the right tax code.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

M1 = month 1, i.e non-cumulative. 603L can be used as the emergency tax code and you are on a non-cumulative basis with the inclusion of 'M1'.
Your employer will send a part of the P45 off to HMRC and any difference in your coding will be issued and your employer will be informed.0 -
I can't see the extra 60 quid on this month's pay!0

Check the P45 Part 1A employee's copy, that you keep. Does it have a cross in the box to the right of your tax code at section 6 under week 1 or month 1 and figures in section 8 if so then you were on a week1/month1 code when you left your last employer and this has carried forward to your new employer.
If there was no cross and you have figures in section 7 of the P45 then either your employer has made a mistake or they may have recieved the P45 to late to process for this payroll and it will go through next month. Either way get in touch with them to find out what has happened.0
