Hi everyone - hope you don't mind if I gatecrash, you all seem like a really friendly bunch

I did baskets/hampers for nearly everyone last year and they all went down really well.
I have also read 'a Thousand Splendid Suns' too - great book, I enjoyed the kite runner by the same author too.
Reading all your recent posts has just reminded me that I haven't done any washing for about a week now  Off to put a load on now - does anyone know if its cheaper at night?Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
Welcome MissOptimistic! You are more than welcome. We are enjoying baskets / making pressies too....
It is only cheaper at night if you are on an economy 7 type tariff. As far as I know it makes no difference to me on my tarrif!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

1 step, Im so sorry to hear about your granny. Mine died Jan 2008 and I still have a wee cry now and then! Better Days!
Welcome, MissOptimistic!! You have come upon the lifesaver for stressed, debtbusting women. We will do our best to keep your chin up when its dragging the ground! I have to say, and have posted on many occasions, we are a great support to each other, like a modern Debt-type Enid Blyton book!!

Hi all
Sorry about your gran 1 step closer, it's very hard losing someone you love.
These baskets are fab - I am not joining in though but I am making my own Christmas cards. (Only send a few to close friends/family, at work we all donate some money to buy a camel or something). You wil be pleased to note I now have 3 presents bought but am lacking any umphh to sort any more out.
Bl**dy mortgage fiasco continues. Am now locked into higher rate than SVR ( but I did want a fixed and just have to grin and bare it) and haven't had proper refund from old company - too technical to really comprehend but am on the case like a bassett hound!!
OH spending money like water again - need to sort him out too but need something fiercer than a hound!
Mardy is a great word - where I live now no one knows what it means but I still I use it - it's one of those words that to me still sounds like it is.
Onwards and upwards dear friends - life might be hard but it keeps us busy!
Belle
