We'd carefully instilled in our eldest the idea that if his tooth came out he'd get 50p and a note from the toothfairy, which he was quite happy about - only to be sabotaged by auntie, who told him the going rate is now £2 for first tooth... grrr. So just make sure the rest of the family is aware of what you decide on the toothfairy, just so your offspring don't get confused!

    lol :rotfl: Flippin' family

Of course the toothfairy does pay different rates in different parts of the country, and even in different streets in the same town ;) - or did you not know that? Witness the European rate quoted earlier. This is how we get inflation!

Obviously not an NHS tooth fairy then.

That's the same wherever, low cost or high cost area!!! :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • Ours had £1 per tooth, a difficult extraction prior to having a brace fitted earned him £5. A couple had to be removed by the dentist because they had holes in and they earnt between 20p and 50p, depending how much money the tooth fairy was earning at the time. We told them the tooth fairy didn't want teeth that were bad. We left notes as well.

A helpful friend once said she bought her children gifts, teeth related like funky toothbrushes, I tried this only once. It def didnt go down well with mine!

What do you all do with the milk teeth? I've kept my DD but my mother said she used to put ours in the rubbish.

Threw all mine too, latest ones are definitely a bit worn out and grotty! If you're a Child of the 90s your parents keep them and send them in for research! (but mine weren't born in Avon so fortunately I can chuck 'em!)

My eight year old was mortified yesterday.
Flippin' tooth fairy forgot her! :o
    All okay this morning though.
She should really have left her double for that mistake but claimed to only have 50p in change !
Wonder if there is a customer services line to complain to?
