Just come across this forum and think its a great idea, but can I ask a stupid question - why flylady? Lots of great ideas to get me motivated - also think sexymouse's comment that what you don't get done one day should wait for the same day next week is excellent - otherwise you'd be in danger of constantly try to catch up with yourself and everything would no doubt fall apart eventuall unless you're superman/woman (better be PC!) which I'm sure some people on here are as there's only 2 of us in the house and it seems like a never-ending battle with the chaos - can only look on in amazement at those of you with the challenge of organising children too - hats off to all of you.MFW Challenge (Tgt Date Nov 07): ACHIEVED FEB 07!
Mthly Savings (Tgt 60% of Inc): Average 41.67% (but we have just paid for a new kitchen!)
Savings Goal £500k (Target Date 50th B'Day Nov 17): 30.41%0 -
Hex - can't you get the children to clean out the chickens
, thus (no pun intended...) killing two birds with one stone... or are they (the kids, not the chickens
) too young for that?
Polkadot - I WILL look for the baking stuff! And can you please set up a mail-order cake business, so we can all take advantage of it??
While I've been out (shopping yesterday, windscreen replacement today... I REALLY know how to enjoy myself), my kitchen appears to have been visited by aliens and got messy all by itself
so I'm off to clean it up. There's still loads I haven't done from last week's list, but at least it won't be any worse.
Wilf55 -... to the madhouse... you sound like you've got quite a challenge ther, and you'll get lots of support here. Just take it slowly and you'll start to see the effect. Sexymouse is right - start with the bedroom so that you at least have a bit of space to yourself where you can get away from the chaos
. And your kids should certainly be old enough to look after their own spaces - just shut the door on their rooms, and give them strict instructions not to let their stuff into your space, or it will be decluttered
Sexymouse - smilies are great, but it takes SOOOO long to write my posts now...Where did that come from??!

We have some too - I should be telling the kids to walk the doogie but I've just bathed her and she'll get all mucky again

Ooh count me in as well. I joined the forum ages ago but forgot to come back. The list idea seems really easy (plus I'm sad and like lists lol).Sealed Pot Challenge 6 - 20580

Sounds like you're doing really well so far.
I've done the washing up and am lacking motivation to do anything else...0 -
Welcome to Wilf55 and Amethystcash - I am a newbie too (well, about a month now).
I have found it invaluable - I love lists and Pigpen is brilliant at organising us - she seems to know what extras I need to do and puts them in that week - I think she's psychic (and a bit scary sometimes too - glad I don't work for the carphone warehouse...)
Not sure who said, but a bit at a time is easier - you actually accomplish something and then you feel better - join in the HHC's if you can, they're great fun (half hour challenges).
I actually started with my bathroom as it's the smallest place, with not much clutter (most of the clutter went into the washbin) and once it was done I could relax in there if I wanted, but pick a room that you either really want done or really want to relax in after - not always the worst one first IMO as that can be daunting.
Anyway, the other flyladies on here will be able to help you more than me, it's such a great friendly place and everyone is just like a true friend with help and advice whenever you need it.
Good luck,

I am so demotivated today I was almost too embarressed to post on here!
I have a big thing to do today and I keep putting it off. I have to find and wrap and deliver some presents. It's a long story but I really should do it now.
Wish me luck

My studying is not going well. My brain is mush today.
House is tidy enough, but the bedrooms are going to take some work when they come up next week as I can't remember the last time I got around to cleaning them
