Thanks Valli, i think i'm going to have to tell them to look sad. Getting them to all stay in one place is going to be a challenge.0

Ha! Techie thwarted! S'not Vista it's XP! And that's a hard colour to read***toddles off to find reading specs***
I'll check my DDA rulebook for colours next time :rotfl:
Try this then:
Go to a command prompt in the system32 subdirectory under your Windows
install, and do:
regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx
and hit enter.
See if this re-registers the file and fixes the issue.
If it does not, because this file is not in your system. you can replace it, but that requires another technical instruction.
Reinstalling MAY NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM!!!
I'll try to PM you later - if I can get that to work, then it'll save boring everyone else. Alternatively, find a teenager...0 -
However - since you mentioned administrator (I have 4 profiles - 1 each for kids, 1 for me and an admin one put in by techie bro in law to stop me messing pc up) I logged off and logged back on as admin (fortunately he did allow me to know password AND ACTIVPRIMARY works if I am logged on as admin - so that tells me that the file is there somewhere - but I don't know id I can load it back onto my profile...I remember when you had to write your own programs...in BASIC...and store them on cassette tape...HARRUMPHDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I have, or had:mad:     on my PC a copy of the interactive whiteboard programme that I use to prepare resources for work - especially maths
and for some reason a file is missing it won't open
I am seriously seriously p***** off. I will have to traipse to work, borrow the B***** CD uninstalll and then reinstall it. Like I haven't anything better to do.
In particular I use it for Numeracy so that I can take in prepared boards (and do fancy things which keep the kids attention)
It's all a waste of B***** time. Pointless.
I have no clue why it has gone - all I have changed is that I have defragged.
Valli is NOT HAPPY
quote]
I know it may seem obvious but have you checked the recycle bin and have you run a search for the file?
if you want to vent that anger Slap me now for being so obvious hun :rotfl: xx
err - in spirit of fling boogies have emptied recycle bin:rotfl: :rotfl:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

The red bit is my question - I can't even find that!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I can't PM you due to my ****** work config, but if you PM me I MAY be able to reply - if that works, then we can deal with the rest...
P.S. I'm an ex-techie, and used to specialise in Macs, so this up-to-date windows stuff is quite a challenge. If all else fails, the techie board will be able to help0 -
Polkadot - cake is fabulous - you've definitely got talent, so its worth looking into the Business Link opportunities.0

Valli - because I work in compliance now I have to ask... is this software actually licensed? Because if not... it might have been on self-destruct :rolleyes:0
