Pay postage costs to return faulty item

Unfortunately things happen and without know the item details its hard to know all the facts.
If the item was new for example thlough then obviously the seller wont have tested it so it's probably as much of a shock to him as it was to you that the item didn't work.
As for your cost in phone calls well that's down to you at the end of the day not being happy with standard practice.
I certainly wouldn't refund anyone anything until I had the item back in my hands and tried it out myself in case they where trying it on which looking at your first post you seem more then happy to do.
Good luck with your bank your gonna need it.
It was new, but without any packaging. Just put in a plain white box with no wrapping or anything to protect it in transit. It could have been damaged on the way too. I can't know that.
I wrote to the seller asking if there is any pairing needed between the remote and the switch - no answer at all.0 -

Well, I wouldn't too, but I'll try.0 -
And can you tell me exactly when and how did I do that?
By thinking of entering false tracking details to paypal so the seller ends up a item down faulty or not and out of pocket for his troubles.
And by also contacting your bank looking to get your money back also indicates to me you are trying to get a full refund without sending the item back.
While I agree its annoying the seller hasn't responded to your messages or claim I still think what your trying to do is not the answer.
If you don't like paypal then don't use it but you agreed to the terms when you signed up for it.0 -

Thinking is not a crime, nor illegal.
Contacting my bank for a full refund, doesn't mean I don't want to return the item. If he's willing to pay for the return costs I'll return.
And let me tell you how I distinguish I good business from a bad one. So far I had 2 cases with Ebuyer.com, where a item arrives faulty. Do you know what they do when I tell them. They just send me a new one for free, without even asking for the faulty one back. I guess now you think how the item was not really faulty and I rip the off, right? Well you are free to think whatever you want. As I said thinking is not a crime.0 -

Now you seem to want to open a whole new can of worms which might be pointless in this case.
Unless it was a business seller on ebay then the laws for returning items are totally different.
You still seem adamant that getting a refund before retuning the item is the way to go so I suggest you go and think that elsewhere as nobody on here will help you commit fraud.0 -

If you bought the item from a high street shop and found it faulty when you got home, would you then return to the shop for a full refund plus your petrol money, bus fare, time to walk back, etc?
OP, Paypal have awarded in your favour, send the faulty item back to the seller, give Paypal the proof of return and collect your refund.
If the seller states in their terms that return postage is to be paid by the buyer then that's part of your contract with the seller.0
