Why don't you post any issues you're having and we'll assist you?
  • Hi You are not very good with pc's are you..If you deleted the partition you would not have a c:\ prompt. When you change the boot order in your bios did you "save" the changes?
Thankfully Vista has stalled you allowing you to re think your options. Vista is good and works well you just need to give it a little more time perhaps, as Coner says it is in End Of Life, what problems are you having?

Also before you go ahead do you have all the drivers you may require saved to cd rom and have the motherboard drivers disc to hand?

HAve a look in Device Manager.
  • hi

yes i have all the original cds the laptop came with

i have deleted all the partitons

and yes i did save the changes in the bios

i dont have any issues with vista technically i just dont like the look and feel, i like to stick with what im used to

If it's purely an interface issue then why not try to make it look like XP? (Why did you use XP in the first place out of interest, had you not used an OS before that?, every Windows/OS iteration has a different feel, computing and software is definitely not the kind of thing to resist change in).

Hi Mikem, I also HATE VISTA:mad: I bought a new laptop and unfortunately Vista was pre-installed. I just cannot get used to it at all. Just wish I had an XP disc so I could install that.

Once again, what problems are you having?

Fundamentally it shares the same interface as everything since Windows 95, a desktop with shortcus, a task bar and a start menu.

Yep I remember all the same arguments at every release of Windows, but you don't see too many people going back to Windows 3.1 today. ;)

I can't see any reason why a home user would wish to downgrade to XP from Vista. I, personally, value the extra security and protection that Vista gives me over XP.

Not everybody is having problems with Vista, that's a generalisation with no substance ;)
