Phoenix Trading - Hints and Tips

I have finally taken the plunge and sent away my form to become a Phoenix Trader. I have ordered the largest starter pack. I will have spent so much money that should give me the incentive to work hard to get it back! I have been obsessed with this thread and feel I have got a lot of ideas out of it. I want to do coffee and cards, party nights, baskets in school staff rooms, and catalogue drops, so I may have to buy more stock. Can't wait to get my pack, and chomping at the bit to get started. How long do you think it will take to come?
When you do party nights, what sort of games do you do?
Also, how many catalogues do you think I might need?0 -
My suggestion to newbies is NOT to send your catalogues out to everyone you know but for those who live locally invite them to your launch party! I posted out about 25 of my brochures to friends and family and only got 4 orders  and I now wish I'd had a launch party and had them round to the house to see the cards and pick up a brochure (and saved on all that postage and the sample cards I sent out).0

I've only sent out 10 brochures to people I know. I've done a brochure drop with 30, got just over half of the brochures back so far, no orders as yet but one wanting a supplement when I've got them ordered. I'll be concentrating on doing fairs, my first one is next month. I don't have a great deal of free time so I'm not rushing to get my inital money back. I have plenty of other avenues I plan on going down, I'm just taking my time.0

Today I went to visit the lady who will be my upline when I go ahead. She was very nice and I am feeling very positive. She told me that for the first six months she didn't take any money out of the business but just kept ploughing it back into buying more stock to do events and baskets, which seems to have worked very well for her. She has been doing it for just over 2 years and started sponsoring people after a year, she now has a team of 9. Her upline is very successful and has been involved in Phoenix right from the beginning.
I'm now just trying to decide whether to go for pack 2 or pack 3!I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
I really can't decide whether to keep trying to make this a success or just get a normal job
and bring in some money. I have an interview on Monday for a part time sales job and only applied for it (online) after I had picked up yet another unsuccessful brochure drop.
I only have about 16 brochures left and OH doesn't want me investing in anymore until we get some orders.0 -
Lalaladybird, I'm going to do this as well as other work. I'm currently training for this after doing some scary "going back to work full-time" maths and working out that on a £30k a year job, I'd be out of the house for 10 hours a day and bringing home the princely sum of £37 after all my costs.
My upline also works part-time in another job.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -

I've started a separate thread to find out your most successful sales techniques because I wanted to add a poll. Thought it might help.
It is not to have a separate hints and tips thread....I love this thread. Just wanted to ask that specific question with a poll.:p0 -
good plan lalaladybird. it'll be good to find out what works better.
I've just found some ad templates on PT site which could be used as a leaflet drop rather than brochure dropping. have a look.0 -
Oooh, I am almost bursting with excitement - I ordered my pack today! I've ordered pack 2, a wire stand, cellos, and some extra bits and pieces I wanted especially for me.
I'm now drafting letters to all the local primary schools' pta's asking them to bear me in mind as a stallholder for their events. The school fairs are in May/June so hopefully I can book a table at a few of them. I know some of them will already have a Phoenix trader, but if you don't ask, you don't get! Obviously my own children's school pta will have me - well, there's got to be some perks to being chair!I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
Great news allIcouldwishfor! You'll be even more excited when it actually arrives!0
