Phoenix Trading - Hints and Tips

Hi babyjar,
Postcards are £4 for a pack of ten. They are lovely heavy quality cards and come with envelopes.
When Phoenix gave a local person my details when she contacted them, I wasn't sent her details, the only thing I knew was when she left a message on my anwerphone. Why not try entering her name in the phoenix website under the contact your trader page? Then I think the site will send her an email for you.

Hi all,
I saw this and decided to go to the Phoenix Trading site and like the look of the products, especially the postcards. I sent them my details for them to let my local rep know I was interested and they sent me her details but just her name and phone no. I have a phobia of phoning people I don't know and wish that they'd given me an email address or something. Anyway can anyone tell me if she willhave been given my details as well? Also can anyone tell me how much a pack of postcards is please? If they are not too much I may talk my husband round to phoning her for me. Sorry for the off thread post, hope this is ok.
Take care all
btw I have no plans of joining way too busy for that, I just want to order

Really pleased to see so many newbies like me! It'll be good to encourage each other
Some more questions!
What counts towards the personal volume? Is it just the cards etc, or do things like bags, wrappers, display stands count too?
Also, what sort of incentives do you give to hostesses? I want to offer something appealing but don't want it to eat in to my commission too much. Does five percent for orders over 50 and ten percent for orders over a hundred sound OK? Also, do you give little presents to party guests who order over a certain amount, say a jotter for orders over 35 pounds? Would be interested to hear what you all offer!

Hi there,
Have just been trying to plough through this thread and got quite excited about possibly becoming a trader. Have asked for an information pack but have realised there may be implications as I'm due to go bankrupt on 9th March. Does this affect my becoming self-employed? (I only work part time at the mo so thought this would be a good chance to up my income)

Sorry, I have no idea.
Could the tax office advise you, perhaps? or maybe one of the other more experienced ladies on here will have an idea....
I do hope you can though! I'm soooo excited about starting, just waiting for my kit to arrive

It is only the cards, etc which count towards your bonus volume, sadly.0

Thanks jimbear, although it's not what I wanted to hear!
My starter kit came yesterday and I've been all over it ever since!! I made up a folder last night and used a whole catalogue and it all fitted in nicely, will do another over the weekend, then Monday morning am going to take them along to my sons' school staffrooms (it's a big school!!) and the school I used to work at. Then the post office to send out a few catalogues to people I've already told and who are interested.
I have to say I found the whole starter kit really excellent. Lots of info and clear tips to help me understand how to go about things. I found the sales and development advice pro-active yet very ethical, and feel comfortable with it, that it is something I really can do. It's a good job really I suppose after spending 45 quid on it:rotfl: !!!
Have a good weekend

"It's a good job really I suppose after spending 45 quid on it"
Now, now;you didn't spend £45 on it! You spent £20 on it - great value. You also spent £25 on your annual registration fee. Now you need to get sponsoring, sponsor 2 people in the next year and you won't have to pay it on the first anniversary of joining. How good is that?

How detailed are your records?
I have been keeping a note of how much each customer has spent but not exactly what they bought and which cards etc. How detailed do I need to be? When it comes time to do the tax return do I just need to say I made £x in sales and bought £y of stock/sales aids etc?
Also, I have been thinking about having a launch party and inviting friends and neighbours but I'm really unsure if I should...I hardly know my neighbours except to say hello to and the friends I would invite have already had brochures in the post from me, some have bought and some haven't. I'm worried people would feel obliged to buy or for those who have bought, to buy more. What do you all think?
After my initial regrets/complete panic, I am enjoying it again. I do love having this thread to refer to.0 -
