Oh dear, sorry londongirl, I was just trying to give you lots of ideas I am not saying that myself, or my upliner does all of these things, that would be a lot of work, they are mostly ideas I got from the roadshow.
To be honest, my last party was small, just some close friends, all I did was have 2 baskets of cards, and some brochures and snacks, that's it, we sat around and chatted, and I got 3 new customers, small gathering but it worked, once people see the cards in person they fall in love with them, especially as they don't always realise that all the cards are only 90p.
I am very sorry for scaring you, I was just trying to give you every idea I could think of. Test it on your friends first and start low key and maybe add one or more of my ideas to subsequent parties as you gain in confidence.

Hi. Thanks for the ideas. I have been thinking about becoming a Trader and am waiting for the pack to come in the post. From what you have said here I am liking the idea more and more. I have a full time job so just want to make a bit of extra money for 'treats' really. I saw the products at a local fair recently and really like them so just waiting for my info now! Do you know how long it should take to get? If you have any other ideas or tips to post I would be interested to hear.Challenge savings 2010-2016 £1564.60:j

Hi observer,
How did you apply for an info pack? If you sent off the freepost card, it will take about 3 days for them to receive it and about another 3 days for it to be sent out to you. Let me know if you still don't have it in a weeks time and I will chase it for you.
Take care

It's ok you didn't scare me off from doing it! It just made me realised i need to be quite organised and prepared - something i havn't quite found the time to do yet! I still have old order forms and things all over the place. I really appreciate all the ideas you gave! But ok it is nice to know that it can be done on a much simpler and smaller scale!! I think i'll do a tester on my mums friends first of all before trying a party with strangers!!
Thanks again! :-)0 -
Does anyone know where I can find the "door to door" note in the downloads? I haven't done door to door for a while and I'm sure there used to be a special note to pop in the bag with the brochure, only I can't find it now.

Hi Elljay
I have just hunted around for these! They are called 'Why Buy' and are in the Stationery and Signs section - I hope these are the ones you mean. There is a letter too if you want to include that - I have adapted it a bit and used it as well.
Hope you find it!
I dropped off some brochures locally yesterday - if I get any orders then I'll try further afield. Should have ordered the 100 pack of brochures but it seemed an awful lot at the time but my 20 are not lasting long!

Hi Jane - Thanks for your quick reply!! Hope you do well with your brochure drop. You'll have to perservere to get all 20 back!! Let us know how many orders you get! I'm off to deliver them while the weather is dry!! How long do you leave people to look through them? I'm leaving them 3 days.0

Hi everyone. I am so glad I came across this thread! I received my info pack and brochure through from Pheonix Trading on Saturday and am really impressed with the products. However I am slightly nervous about committing to it as I am quite shy so can't imagine myself doing the parties. I think I'd probably go down the route of door to door brochure drops and maybe circulating some brochures round my work, family and friends.
I was interested to read Skeeter's post about door to door drops, that appeals to me as I wouldn't want to pressurise people. Out of interest, how did you get on - would you use the same tactics (if that's the right word) again?
This thread, together with the pack makes me really want to get involved!!I'm sure once I got going and did my first brochure drop I'd be fine, but as I say I'm just a bit nervous about it. If anyone has any words of advice I would grately appreciate it.
Also.......I've been reading all the info and I have question. You see the £25 annual fee, is that due a year from when you join or in January of every year?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can offer.0 -

My most recent brochure drop was 22 houses and yielded 3 new customers, so not too bad, the orders were quite large too so that was good.
If you are shy, then the brochure drops is definitely the best way to go as you don't have to talk to anyone really. You might also want to try doing a craft or christmas fair, they tend to be less scarey than hosting a party, that was the first thing I did actually when I joined last year, I did an autumn fair at the local school, it was not scarey at all.
You fee is charged annually on the day you joined not in january (unless you joined in january).

I delivered my brochures on a Friday, and collected them the following Wednesday and Thursday. I think 3 days is enough time, although does this include the weekend?Thank you to all OPs
