  • Hello!

I too am a trader, but even though I have been with the company 3 years I haven't really done much in the way of sales...
I have, so far, only sold to friends and family really. I have done one playgroup autumn fair (last year) which was pretty pants, everyone was there expecting bargains and so no one wanted to play full price for anything (a bit too much like a jumble sale)
Now the little ones a little older I want to get a bit more involved... but don't
have heaps of spare time to devote to it. DH is taking catalogues to work and mum to the school she works in... and then I have a mini event in a pub mud november.
My trouble is, that when I started I joined via a contact on a forum, that lives miles from me... and so can't help in a realistic way with stock etc, and I don't think I've heard anything from her in over 2 years! It would be nice if I could find someone local to me to "team" up with when it comes to placing smaller, but more frequent orders.
    Anyway, enough from me...!
Thanks for the good ideas that are coming out on here... I may try to include a couple of these ideas for our Christmas event!
I look forward to chatting again
  • hi all, well i did my first party last night and it was a great success. I am really pleased with it, though i didn't get anymore parties from it. I have another party booked for Nov 7th maybe i'll at least get one then. but yes it was very rewarding and makes me want to work harder to get more orders in.

    Hi Polarbear

welcome to the board, I'm in the East midlands where abouts are u. 3 years is a long time but you have stuck at it so you must enjoy it, but like you say now the kids are a little older you might be able to get to a few toddler groups in the mornings. or maybe a few partys in the evening.

I did my first party last night, have been a trader for about 2 weeks so was really nervous... i forgot to take my sales pitch with me which i typed out but alas i did ok and had a very good evening. I held it at my mums house which was great and it was mostly family that attended, luckily I have a big extended family.

hoping you find someone closer to you to swap cards with. check out the facebook group, i'm also a member of that.

    Hi polobear,

Have you contacted your ET in your upline to ask if there is anyone in the team who lives locally?

Whereabouts do you live? I am in Buckinghamshire.
:) Thank you to all OPs :)

    That is great news :T

  • JD, well done on the party!
I tried one once and NO-ONE turned up... it was supposed to raise funds for DS's playgroup but none on the mums turned up - not even ones on the comittee who had basically asked me to do it!
BUT... I think I may try and do it again the beginning of the year... I know them all a bit a better now, and can nag (remind them!) more easily.

I am in East Sussex... and need to do some research to try and find details of my "up-line"! ooo just thought may still have correct e-mail on my contract!

Are the details of your upline not in the Genealogy section of the PT website?

I am surprised your ET has not stayed in touch and offered support, if you are doing well then so are they!

Maybe you could contact PT themselves, and ask if they can put you in touch with someone local?
:) Thank you to all OPs :)

Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Mortgage-free Glee!
I got £64 order from friend yesterday so am very pleased! I like the idea of packaging up things like egg345 suggested (advent calander/cards/paper chain etc)...do you then just add it all up and price as 1. ie:if doing a card and gift wrap and tag, would you price as £1.30? (card £1,wrap£1,tag 30p) or do you discount it?

Anyway am waiting for delivery hopefully sat or monday, and then can get packaging!

    Hi Clare,

Glad to hear you are starting to receive orders :T

I keep the gift wrap and matching tag in cellophane (which is the easiest way for me to store it) and sell for £1.30.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread that you could include the wrap, matching tag and card as a set and sell for £2.20 (giving a 10p discount).
:) Thank you to all OPs :)
  • Hi,
I've been a Trader for many years and have a large team. I would be heart broken if any of them feel they have to come on here to find answers and get support! I'm part of a really strong and supportive team and I'm hoping you are too! If you can't get the support you need from your immediate upline, please turn to other people above you (ETs?!) who are experienced and knowledgeable!
