Oh :( I was gonna count today as NSD though I had to pay postage for a book I sold on-line... Is this not allowed??? Will not spend on anything else today. That would've made it 5/6 NSD's and as it's the last day, that would've been it. I might still count today as NSD as it was essential spend to get the extra money in the first place. Opinions?

As long as you made more money than you spent, I would count it! I just bought 10pts of milk, 2 papers and 40 fags for OH (£15.37) but I just banked over £100 in change (plus I'll get the fag money back off OH tonight) so I'm counting ot as an NSD...... Cheat? Me? Never! :D

Talking about 'cheating' on NSD's...if you borrow money to do an activity, say to go and play badminton when you wanted to have a NSD day and pay it to your bf the next day, would you consider this as cheating? In effect, you're not using money as someone else has paid for it,but then when you have money (the next day being your spend day), you pay it. Opinions again please. I can't always schedule exercise for days when I'm spending otherwise as well as it usually includes 3 more people.

I'm going to declare today a NSD early! So that's 5/6 for the first month. :(
It's a miserable weather, so after work I'm going straight home to plan next months NSD possibilities and do a meal plan for the week ahead for the grocery challenge. I need to be super organised to achieve both of my targets next month.

 Ok so I failed to get an NSD yesterday as my daughter needed some ingredients for today's cooking class which normally I'd have stocks of but I didn't because I'd been eking everything out for The Grocery Challenge and then used the eggs for brekkie so that we didn't have to buy milk in order to score an NSD for this challenge.

So as it stands it's the last day of September's NSD challenge and I still need one to make my target. (and I really wanna trophy!!!)

I haven't spent any money so far today but if I don't it'll mean the packed lunches might be a bit eccentric in the morning!

I'm off to do some research to see what I can cobble together out of what we've still got in the house (or else do a shop tomorrow morning at 6am so it doesn't count for today! :D )

Talk about taking it to the wire!

  :j Yay! I think I did it! :j

I've cobbled together some random veg soup and basic crusty breadmaker bread and cheese for everybody's lunch tomorrow -and there are heaps of apples, oranges and bananas so nobody wil starve.

Having spaghetti hoops on toast for tea tonight was quite fun and I'm going to knock up a apple crumble or suet pud in a minute for when hubby and son come back starving from football later.

That was waaaaaaay harder than I thought it would be though! I was quite blase about it when I started cos I thought having 8 spend days would be plenty - but I know much better now!

    This challenge is tough!

We have logged our lowest over all monthly grocery / incidentals spend for quite a while this month - and I'm giving this challenge a big ole chunk of the credit.

    Thank you so much everyone!

    I'm sorry guys n gals .... i've let the side down :o ! I managed 6 out of the 10 I said I would.

I started off really well but it's been one of those months where you just come across bargain after bargain and it would be stupid not to buy  !

I am, however, extremely well stocked up on everything (food, toiletries etc) and have already bought birthday pressies for next month. So, I should be able to have quite a few NSD's in October !

Well done:T to all of those who managed to hit their target this month - I shall take a leaf out of your books next month ;) .
