This is per year so it is £418 pcm. It is not lived in by us, but by our son and a couple of lodgers, hence the high insurances cost and charge for gas certificate. The rents pay the bills. The property is a three bedroom Victorian mid-terrace on the outskirts of the city centre in the Midlands.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Costs for our 3 bed semi in North Staffordshire:
Mortgage £70k - £420 per month.
House insurances - £19.
Gas/electric - £75 (including homecall insurance).
Council tax - £90.
TV licence - £10.
Sky tv/ phone/ internet - £40.
Water rates £20.
Thats a staggering £685 just for basic living expenses!
Then food/petrol/car bills etc. on top of that , plus any debts - it's no wonder so many are struggling.
This is for 3 adults - me, hubby and 18 year old daughter.0 -
Where I live for a rat infested studio apartment it's £700 pm - I looked into it!
I only have a small mortgage £200 pm so it's cheaper for me to stay in my house as I am on my own. My council tax is £115 pm with single person's discount and that is over 12 months for a 2 (or 1 and a half) bedroomed mid terrace!
B&C insurance all linked into my monthly mortgage repayments.
I only have electric which is £30pm and that is the cheapest I can find.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140
