I got a friend to order this, has now arrived BUT contrary to expectations it appears to be locked to BT Broadband. Can also confirm it has one ethernet port and one USB port.0

How is it locked to BT broadband?
One ethernet port and one usb, does this mean that only 1-2 pc's will be able to share the router?
The woman on the phone said you have 14 days to send it back, but on the other hand if i dont want it surley i should make more than £10 on ebay?0 -

It will handle up to 10 wireless connections and one wired connection though the ethernet port.0 -
Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread.
I've worked out why I couldn't get this modem for £10!
Although I receive Option 3 services I receive a 25% discount on my BT Broadband bill (bribery to stay with BT!!! :rotfl: ). When the discount was registered, though, my account details were amended to read Option 2 (6GB allowance) although I still receive EXACTLY the same Option 3 package as before!
So 2 things to note:-
1) BT have no way of measuring or regulating your broadband allowance (so no point in paying for Option 4 for instance! You can get away with reduced bills on a lower Option so think about switching!)
2) Everybody who's had this £10 modem/router should ring BT in another 3 months (after the further minimum term) to say you want to cancel your contract and then wait for them to offer you a 25% discount on your bill ...0 -
Can now confirm this works with BT Broadband only, unless anyone knows how to unlock it. Also appears that they are giving this away free to new subscribers, which explains the vague attitude to the price as mentioned above.
From what I can make out the 2091 is essentially a BT Voyager 205 with wireless added, but which has been nobbled to tie users in to BT Broadband. I expect the larger ISPs will follow suit by offering free home networking on all except their most basic packages.
So, if you are with BT, insist they supply this as a free upgrade or threaten to leave. If you are with another ISP, avoid this router.0 -
What adaptor should I get for this?
Btw, I am already on option 4, have a 25% discount and had no problems getting it for £10.Er...0 -

That's great!
BTW I use broadband at Option 4 levels (around 30GB download) but pay Option 2 minus 25% (so £17.25 pm - around £5 per month less than your tariff).0
