I have not capped I haven't even had a bill yet only been in here since the middle of May paying £30 a month with BG for electric but getting the gas free as they haven't taken a payment or sent me any details about the gas. But if they expect me to pay a lump sum to catch up they can forget it I am on benefits
Does being on "on benefits" mean that you don't pay for gas?0 -
I only capped this time (due to end in Nov) because it was the cheapest supplier at the time, looking at current prices Click 5 will be £180 a year more for me when I need to switch again but that's the smallest increase. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

I decided not to cap but stick with an internet tariff. I think fear is a big factor here and I think as with most fixed price items you will be worse off over time - the energy companies are not going to lose out.
I almost fell into the trap with my remortgage and almost fixed when prices were rising almost daily in June/July. Now mortgage rates are falling - I'm so glad I didn't fix.
I've moved today from Eon v5 to v8 as they told me I would save £157 by doing so. I am quite happy to swap tariffs as and when necessary to get the best prices.
All I really want is to pay a fair price for things I need. It's seems crazy that we have to gamble in this way on the basic necessities.
