Housing dilemma

I am however sick and tired of having to pay for other people (like the OP) who feel they are entitled to a six bed house at my expense.
I reject that. If OP wants a six bed house, should get a job and earn it. Not leach of the taxpayers .
Council tenants are not subsidised - in fact through the housing subsidy system £200 million of rent payers money will disppear into central goverment coffers this year.
If you are being a bigot, at least try to get your facts right!0 -
Where else would I be on a Sunday morning?
In Church? You sound as if it wouldn't do you any harm.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
Of course, I'm sitting at home. Where else would I be on a sunday morning? As to abusing people because I "have no friends or a life", have you read your own post?
Unfortunately I'm not a kid anymore. I am however sick and tired of having to pay for other people (like the OP) who feel they are entitled to a six bed house at my expense.

You just don't learn, do you Bf109?
I remember you said almost exactly the same thing to blue_monkey a few months back. When she returned to state her case and demonstrate that you were entirely wrong, you ran off like a coward. Didn't even have the decency to apologise.

And here you are embarrassing yourself again. Who said anything about a six bed house at your expense? :rolleyes:0 -

I know in most areas 4 bed places are very hard to come by. With 3 children, couldn't 2 of them share? You might find it a lot easier to get a 3 bed place....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Sometimes, a poster is unable to work not unwilling to work.
I would love to work and in fact up until a few years ago, did work but then my (now ex) hubby decided the grass was greener elsewhere and left me with 3 children, two of whom are disabled.
Not so bad people say until you actually try to get childcare for them...I have a guaranteed job to go back to when I can but I can't because of not being able to secure childcare for my 2 disabled children.
I have tried every which way to get around it but it has been impossible which the doctor and specialists are not surprised at and tell me not to worry about working and just look after the needs of the children but I am because here is me wanting to work, willing to work but there is just not the infrastructure in childcare to cope with these children.
Blimey, even my parents have expressed surprise at my wanting to work even though it could quite possibly leave me in exactly the same position I am now with regards to money (after paying childcare, travel etc) and they have been the ones to instill the work ethic in me!
It is a lot harder when you are a single parent and wanting to work, especially if you have more than 1 child or if any of the children have a disability of any kind..there is no partner to look after the children while you go out to work (which is how we did it prior to splitting up, he worked during the day and I worked at night)
So Bf109, try to think before you post.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Sorry Folks I had no idea that this thread was still going on . As to Bf109 I am not a leech and dont appreciate being judged by you .
My situation is as follows .
I am a single parent with 4 children 6-14 in ages. I fled from my ex husband 4 years ago and was put into temporary accommodation in the borough of kingston . When I was able to get on my feet emotionally, I went to university and have now finished. I havent gone to work since I finished my Post-graduate, as with my rent being £340 week, Childcare and utility bills, I will not financially better off working . I feel frustrated because, I want to go back to work full-time. Not only would it provide a better lifestyle for myself and children.0 -
Single Sue , we sound alike in that we both want to work . I have been to income support for help with calculation and they have confirmed that I wont be that much better off.0

I have to say I am always horrified by rents in London. how much a week? You should move oop north where the rent isn't much more than that a month.0

To be honest I wish I had gone elsewhere for permanent housing !!! .However, my children are settled here so, it would be difficult to uproot again .0

Do you drive ebony?
I was wondering , when looking at the maps whether there might be a cheaper option a bit further away? Maybe hounslow heath doesnt look tooooooo far, but i looked around teddington/ kingston/ richmond and theres nothing for you
the other alternative is to find a 3 bed with a seperate dining room, and use that as a bedroom, lots of people do do this? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
