I have 2 cats, they are sisters and 12 years old. Both went out last night before I went to bed I opened the door to let them in and only one was there. Normally within 5 minutes the other will turn up but not last night. They don't stay out over night and this is the first time in her life that she has been out all night.
I am really worried about her and have been out looking for her today, I've asked all the neighbours to check their sheds and garages but still no sign of her.
Neither of my cats have ever wandered far so this is so out of character for her, normally the furthest she goes is a couple of house either side if that, more often than not she just stays in the back garden.
I've called petsearch, cat protection and local vets and left her details and my phone number. Going back out tomorrow to look, have printed leaflets with her photo to put through doors in my street and the streets either side.
Miss her so much and just want her home

OMG I hate it when they do this!! Be assured, but please do not be upset, that when I say
No body = hope.
You have looked in the obvious places and not found her, so in all liklihood she's just taking a holiday and will be coming back.
One of my cats did this to me, I think he was having a good explore around and wanted to be outside rather than in the stuffy house. I was beside myself with worry and drove around looking for him. He wandered back some time later without a care in the world (the little !!!!!!). I hope your one is doing the same and comes back like she's never been away.
It helps to be doing something. Take a look at www.mymoggy.com as they have a multitude of ideas on what to do to find a missing cat, and you are already doing some of the actions which are the most useful. There are also lots of heart-warming, tear-enducing stories of cats coming home. Unfortunately some of the "other" types of stories too, but you can skip over those.
I hope she comes back safe and sound sooner rather than later.
If she's wandering around lost then it'll help her orientation if you put a stinky unwashed nightshirt, tshirt, pair of trainers, old cat litter etc etc by your front and your back doors. As soon as she catches a whiff she'll know exactly which direction to go.0 -
I hope she comes home.
Please let us know any updates

the idea of placing some items of their bedding or your clothing in your garden is a good one - cats have very sensitive smell. she will recognise her territory.
i had a cat that used to disappear for two weeks every summer, it was like he was going away for his annual holiday! he always came back.
hope your little makes it home safely very soon x0 -

Thanks everyone, well my little darling reappeared yesterday morning. Went out into garden yesterday morning, was about to call her and she came bounding down the garden, miaowing.
Reckon she had been locked in a shed or garage as she was clean, no signs of fighting. She was starving as hadn't had anything to eat since Thursday, Hopefully she won't do that again!:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j
